@cicerone imposter,
Who knows, I don't worry about it too much, also I can't really complain, I do it myself sometimes. I guess sometimes you just don't want to go there but you want to express something so that is a cheap way of doing it. In other words, you are correct.

@revelette2,
Back to the OP.

Pundits have expressed their concern that Trump continues to offer up example after example that he is corrupt, perhaps the most corrupt politician in modern history. They refer to his multitude of lawsuits as just one example.

Pundits are seriously concerned that the man who hijacked the Republican party is building his campaign on the rotted core of corruption.

Apparently a Republican released Trump's entire speech to a Clinton super pac and now it is all over the press. This is a top notch organization Trump has built here.

@engineer,
I have the tv on mute, that's about the best I can do right now. Ivanka is introducing Daddy Trumpbucks and I can't wait to hear his speech. I wonder if it will be the "I have a dream speech" or "the Gettysburg address"? Anybody know?

@cicerone imposter,
I can only listen to bits of his vitriol then I have to take a break. My opinion may be based on the barest of info. As of now he has said everything we feared he would say about immigration. He claims he has received endorsement from the Border Patrol but how can a group of federal employees endorse anybody? The Hatch act prohibits such a thing.

What's absolutely frightening is the crowd. It's more of a mob, chanting, screaming out for Trump, screaming that Hillary should be locked up. All the usual stuff stupid people think is nifty. It's a sad day for the country.

I turned on Comedy Central, they are showing South Park cartoons and on the crawl it announces it will switch to the Daily Show, Live from Cleveland as soon as Trump stops talking. I didn't make that up. I'm not a South Park aficionado but they are showing "Trump send ups" mocking his views on, well all of his views.

I don't think Trump will offer any hope for the future, just plans to punish all the people that his ranting fans want to see destroyed. He is no longer interested in defeating Hillary, he seems to want her obliterated. Is any body else frightened?

@glitterbag,
Trump is a divider. He calls Mexicans criminals and rapists. He talks about his wall and sending the eleven million illegals packing. That he has supporters just tells me those Americans are as ignorant as he is.

Today's main news was his wife's plagiarism. Poor woman claimed she wrote it herself, but anybody that believes that will believe anything.

I wonder what the next Trump chapter is going to look like.

Apparently you've never read the Hatch Act... which of course is readily available on the internet which I assume you have access to... I find it absolutely amazing when people post on this site and the level of ignorance that is displayed.

@glitterbag,
Yes I am frightened... I'm frightened that this country will be turned over to a liar, a perjurer, someone whose only qualification is that they believe they are entitled to be president someone who will do anything to obtain that position someone who as president will stack the Supreme Court was jurists who will shred the Constitution someone who has padded their personal bank account with Millions by selling political access someone who has endangered lives and the security of the United States someone who caused the death of four America Heroes including an American ambassador... yes I'm very very frightened that this country might be turned over to a liberal who does not believe in American exceptionalism or putting America first who instead of having the back of the American public is interested in only one thing... her own personal power.

@snood,
There's a difference tho. All those pundits who were saying that he would never win the nomination were ignoring the polls which were clearly showing him on track to win same nomination. That's not the case with the general election.

The Brexit referendum is a more worrying reference. The polling average had Remain leading throughout, until the final stretch when Leave suddenly took the lead.. and Leave won, of course.

It is boring. It's an ego boost to hear my kids tell me they love me, but the only surprising thing would be if a kid doesn't love their parent.

Come to think of it....

Tiffany Trump’s Sad, Vague Tribute to Her Distant Father

Quote:
In a speech about five minutes long, Tiffany was unable to come up with a single meaningful anecdote about her father or his influence in her life. He wrote notes on her childhood report cards, she said, and called her on the phone after someone close to her died. Her attempted praise was edged with sadness: He’s good with advice, she said, but “he keeps it short.” She loves introducing him to her friends who have “preconceived notions” about him, because “in person my father is so friendly, so considerate, so funny, and so real.” The unavoidable implication was that the Donald Trump the public knows is none of these things.

Well, since you chose not to watch, here is a summary what she actually said:

1. It is one of his defining qualities that he can do whatever he puts his mind to.
2. His desire for excellence is contagious and he posseses a unique gift for bringing that trait out in others.
3. He's always helped me be the best version of myself by encouragement and by example.
4. My Dad has taken great pride in my accomplishments.
5. He wrote "sweet" notes on all of my report cards.
6. My father always asks about my other family (with mother Marla Maples) to make sure that they are healthy and safe.
7. When someone close to me died, the first call I got to comfort me was my father. He got me through it with "unwavering support."
8. My father is a "natural born encourager," the last person who will ever tell you to lower your sights or give up your dreams.
9. People who know him well see that he is very friendly, considerate, funny, and real, strong, protective, kind, and endearing.

Sounds pretty good to me. Only someone desperate to find something wrong would describe it as "edged with sadness" as you quoted. Basically, she said that she has a great father who has always helped, supported and encouraged her and whom she loves.

The attacks on Trump usually take something that he said, change it into something that he didn't say, and then attack that. No, he didn't call Mexicans criminals and rapists. That's a lie. He said that illegal immigrants from Mexico contain among them criminals and rapists and "some, I assume, are good people."

Yes, he wants to send the illegals "packing." That would be the conventional and proper thing to do with people who entered the country illegally. The United States, like other countries, has the right to enforce its immigration laws.

As for his wife's plagiarism of a very few words from Michelle Obama's speech, that was a miscommunication between her and a speechwriter named Meredith McIver. You may be unaware of plagiarisms found on the part of both Barack Obama and Joe Biden in their presidential campaigns.
