Quote:
In a video posted to Facebook, Tebow said he just returned from the Phillipines and woke up this morning “to find out I’m speaking at the Republican national convention, it’s amazing how fast rumors fly and that’s exactly what that is, a rumor.”

Quote:
The denial again raises the question of how much can ever be believed from the Trump campaign. They have constantly throughout the campaign told reporters and the public one thing while it turns out to be very different or not at all.

How many other of the speakers rolled out by the Republican Party as speakers for the Convention will actually show up? It is unclear.

The list of speakers has also been criticized for being heavy on Trump family members, “C” and “D” list “celebrities” and Republican lawmakers (though many senators are skipping the convention, including high profile leaders like Senator John McCain).

@ehBeth,
Yeah, ain't that something.

And Sarah Palin, who would love to be there and Donald Trump who would love to have her there have been thwarted because Alaska is far, far away and travel over such a distance is really difficult.

What is the truth about Sarah Palin and the convention?

@Lash,
Future President Trump’s first executive order will be to move Alaska closer to the rest of the country. And get airports there.

@revelette2,
Presidential historians claim that the 2016 election will have:

A. The two worse, and most disliked, candidates ever to fill the bill.

B. The highest voter apathy/worse turnout in 72 years.

C. The number of Americans that 'just don't give a damn' will be the highest ever.

D. Over 95% of Americans are looking for a way to have them both lose and elect Moose and Squirrel or Boris and Natasha.

I tell ya, British Columbia's gonna be pissed when they see that big island 10 miles off her coast. Very Happy

And what is the reason for this? Opposition research. When electing people means just finding fault-or making up crap-about somebody instead of dealing with actual policies or even results, you get candidates who have been battered hard and who therefore will be unpopular. In Trump's case, he goes out of his way to insult people, so the people who think, "Yeah, that's the way to tell 'em off" love him, and the rest of the people hate him.

@ehBeth,
Kind of my thought, I think he just says (or tweets) whatever comes into his head at any given moment regardless of what he said before. I am wondering if tweets are going to be the way of announcing these things?

@revelette2,
That's true, I think Trump envisions himself as the first president to use tweets like Roosevelt is credited with being the first president to use radio.

@revelette2,
I wasn't quite buying his concern about Nice, thinking instead that he might have been changing his mind. There was a time limit I read about re Pence's need to have it decided by Friday. Of course, I may be misreading him.

@Blickers,
I think Obama was the first to talk about those kinds of things, I remember thinking it was weird to have a President talk about a Blackberry. But I think you are right, Trump kind of cheapens the process in my opinion with his tweeting and letting the news headlines do his campaign. More of his vulgarism.

don't think of it as cheapening, think of it as cost-saving

it's pretty smart

he doesn't have to pay for much advertising if the news does it for him

@ossobucotemp,
I doubt anyone did.

It was a horrible tragedy. Unfortunately, we are growing so used to these acts of terror and acts of violence in other news, it is becoming a new normal that we live with. I just wonder how it we can work on ending them, or at least not having them happen so often as they do now.

I suppose, still, seems vulgar to me. I hope it doesn't become something future candidates do too much of.

@ehBeth,
I think people are too eager to give this overage frat boy credit for cunning and shrewdness. I think he just gets away with doing things nobody else can because he's a shameless white man who's rich enough not to have to worry about his own conduct. For some reason the media decided to give this shameless rich white man a pass on everything. Who else can spout lies and vulgarities and roll on this unscathed by the press? What other candidate could get away with boasting of his financial genius and using it as the cornerstone of his campaign, but refusing to reveal tax documents that would delineate his personal finances? Does his ability to get away with these things make him some kind of transcendent political or mass media genius? No - I think it makes him the obscene poster boy for white privilege run amok.
