Many of us are quite pleased. Only certain commercial interests are in favour of hordes of foreigners invading our land. The fact that they have control of media is neither here nor there.

It takes awhile for news to get to the colonies, especially about soccer/football.

Rolls eyes. The olympics in Los Angeles were probably a plus for the city. New leaps in graphic design, probably some improved cohesion re the sense of the city (that needed some) as a whole with the marathon, and, besides, I enjoyed it all immensely even though the only thing I attended was the marathon, standing with my neighbors and others as Joan Benoit floated by.

I will admit I used to mute (when I had a tv) the jingoistic commentaries.
