@realjohnboy,
You got the right team matchups but you assigned the wrong days of the week to Saints @ Seahawks and to Ravens@ Chiefs.

@realjohnboy,
Thanks again for all the work and commentary, rjb - do you want us to pick the wild card games now, or did you set up another thread. Oh, I guess I could always go look for myself, huh?

Isn't there a prize for the leader of the late comers. Oh yeah, I guess he also came in last........my first mitt was a Nellie Fox, worthless piece of **** hunk of leather it was. They need to have some vintage equipment games to see how modern players can handle old conditions.

I dodged the issue of which games are on Sat and which are on Sun by saying "this weekend." Sometimes I amaze myself.

What was all that passing the ball from man to man behind the line of scrimmage at the end of the Lions game?

Don't tell me you've never seen this clip:

@ossobuco,
Yeah, he was great - the glove still sucked! Don't forget, that glove was a fairly good representation of what the 2nd baseman actually used in those days. And, before that, it was even less.

@Ticomaya,
Why is it not done more often Tico if it is within the rules.

@spendius,
It's an all out, high risk, little chance of success attempt that is saved for the end of the game and is analogous to the "Hail Mary" pass. If the circumstances exist and the conditions warrant - it is almost always done.

@spendius,
There are some famous lateral passes that I forget the details of. Thinking, SF 49ers, but that's a guess.

Kinda fun, isn't it? Spontaneity! Creativity! The sort of thing one used to
see in pick-up games.

NFL coaches HATE spontaneity and creativity.

@George,
Yeah, agreed! Because that scenario requires coaches to think 'out of the box'. That sort of thinking is bred out of NFL and NFL coaches. They all work off of a conservative copy-cat behavior, as in do-whatever-was-successful-for-last-year's-Super Bowl-winner-last-year mode.

IMHO, the winning coach of most Super Bowls has been someone with the incredibly good or hot-handed QB and/or is coached by someone who thinks out of the box as an organic part of their make-up.

@farmerman,
Overall winner: Spendius

This week’s winner: your's truly
http://able2know.org/topic/160668-114

I won in Week #1 and Week #17

BTW, kudos also goes to BillW, the actual percentage winner; however, he wasn't the official winner, as he only played for 4 or 5 games of the season.

@Ragman,
You should start playing the spreads, thatll separate the tourists from the fanboys.

Seems that the final avgs were clustered around .600. I wonder what the chicken did.
