@Arella Mae,
Quote:Oh notice how there is no link to the man that killed the police officer story?
Here my love I am sorry that I can not get the whole story for you as that would cost me 3 dollars to do so. It date back to 1991. Lord I have a good memory. In any case they drag him back to Miami and then let him go home shortly afterward after he plea to some minor charge or other. I remember the police union was not happy over the matter but the officer kill had a habit of beating up black teenagers Mr. Satrachan being one of them for the hell of it.
Sometime mercy and commonsense are apply.

MIAMI -- Leroy Strachan`s past caught up to him this week.
More than 43 years after Miami`s first black patrolman was slain by a sniper, Miami homicide detectives said on Friday that Strachan, a New York resident, is his killer.
The 61-year-old freight elevator operator was charged with first-degree murder on Thursday. He faces extradition to Miami.
The break in the case came when a widow, who said her failure to come forward had gnawed at her conscience for four decades, told police eight months ago that she had seen the killer.
``No matter how long the investigation process takes, we are still going to make an arrest,`` Miami police Chief Perry Anderson said.

Miami Herald - September 7, 1991 - 2B LOCAL
ERROR DELAYS RELEASE OF ACCUSED COP KILLER Leroy Strachan's joyous day of freedom will have to wait until sometime next week. Strachan, the 63-year-old elevator operator from New York charged with the 1946 murder of a black Miami police officer, was supposed to plead guilty in Miami to a lesser charge and be released from custody Friday. An unforeseen procedural error kept that from happening. Instead of pleading guilty to manslaughter, Strachan appeared at a brief bond hearing before Judge Murray Klein....

[Mario Cuomo]'s order, signed April 2 and revealed in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday, allows [Leroy Strachan] to be released to Miami authorities. But Strachan will remain in the Manhattan House of Detention at least until Monday, when his lawyer, William Kunstler, will argue to have the extradition warrant dropped.
Strachan's wife and a dozen supporters, many of them from Strachan's church, the Refuge Temple Church of Christ, filled the court yesterday where Cuomo's decision was announced in a hearing before Manhattan Criminal Court Justice Peter Benitez. "Whatever the Lord's will, let it be done," Strachan's wife, Tony, said outside the courtroom.
