Wow....This should be made known that he totally flip flopped. The media got all on John Kerry for flip flopping but why not Rudy. I have no hope for this country. The only glimmer of hope is with the Ron Paul campaign and hopefully we can gain enough supporters for an uprising.

LOL!!! all hope is lost then.

I think we are truly through the looking glass in this country. Black is white, up is down, and 2+2=5. Example: So-called conservatives foam at the mouth attacking Ron Paul while constantly raving over "tough guy" Fred Thompson.

Let's compare the two: Ron Paul is a medical doctor, former Flight Surgeon in the Air Force, and 10-term congressman who has never voted for a tax increase, federal gun law, a congressional pay raise, etc. He's served on the House Banking, Finance, and Foreign Affairs Committees, supported Reagan in 1976 (one of only 4 Republicans to do so), is pro-life, pro-Constitution, and for securing our southern border while opposing amnesty.

Fred Thompson is a lawyer, lobbyist, actor, CFR member, who has spent his entire adult life inside the Beltway or on Hollywood sets. He never served in the military and yet--like Giuliani--is a shameless war hawk.

What's wrong with this picture?
What wrong with this picture? Nothing welcome to America.

@DesertDave,
Obviously we weren't "protecting" our interest since we have been attacked on our own soil by basically the same people twice now, so that bullshit doesn't shovel. "Protecting" our interest is what put us in front of the bus.

@DesertDave,
One good reason for invading Iraq. Oil. And world market dominating force. To much at risk for a man like Sadam to gain control of, and HE did make his intentions to Iran, saudi arabia, and the UAE.

I am not tlaking about the price at the pump, I am talking about the WORLD economy. Every commodity on the market, is effected by Oil, (How do you get comodities to market? Sail boats?)

@DesertDave,
How can I root for the enemy when we as Americans are the enemy. Americans are blinded to the truth. China is quickly competing for oil, the major reason why we were so aggresive in Iraq.

So the alternative to protecting our interests is?
I suppose since protecting our interest is, as you so eloquently say "bull****", then perhaps we should govern from your school of foreign policy? Which is? please enlight us with your wisdom.

@DesertDave,
DesertDave,
I'm afraid your television station must be stuck on Al-jazera or something. We are the enemy? All I can say is I'm sure as hell glad I wasn't in your unit over there.
What does China have to do with us being the enemy? Are you Chinese?
Are we the enemy because we are protecting our oil supply lines? I guess I'm not sure I understand why we are the enemy, please elaborate?

"OUR' Oil supply lines.....NOT! Iraq and Saudi Arabia are Nations just like America is. We heavily impose our US military on their soverign free countrys.

If they did thst to us, we'd be bitchin beyond belief because we like to like the free like but project our military rule in the mis east honey.

I did not say we should not protect our interest, but you can not spread democracy with a gun. I can't write software, but I can tell you if it doesn't work, and our foreign policies do not work. There are plenty of ways of getting things done without resort to a military action, if we truely wanted to spread democracy, but unfortunately humanitarianism doesn't make multinational corporations billions of dollars. We have a lot of power and influence, and until recently respect worldwide. Our government is greedy, and war is big business.

@DesertDave,
The real question seems to be what anyone means by "our" interests. It's amazing to me that so-called conservatives preach about free-market--a concept I believe in--but then advocate the use of the military on behalf of U.S. oil corporations a la Halliburton. Oh sorry, Halliburton is moving it's corporate headquarters to the Middle East.

These same people seem to think we should launch a pre-emptive strike on Iran. Does any clown who advocates that tact understand the effect such a strike would have on the world oil market?

It wouldn't cost us anything, we would be going in there to steal there oil just like were stealing it from Iraq.

And you think this is a good thing? Sounds pretty Christian to me. Someone refresh my memory, when did Jesus say, "Kill hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, and children to plunder their natural resources because it's the pragmatic thing to do."?

I don't think you really understand the environmental consequences of a nuclear strike.
