Kickycan is the greatest person on this site. He's always coming up with clever threads about his balls or sex or other related subjects, but he's also as sharp as a tack on any subject at all. Plus he knows who the real assholes are and is not afraid to tell them.

He's my hero.

I thought that would be blueveinedthrobber. Go figure.

@mm25075,
Kind of a miscellaneous post of comments to add on -

Khethil was mentioned very positively by one of the Phils; I'd have to look back and see where, but I think he (?) was just kidding about being ignored.

MM25075, I was just going to mention you as one of the southwest contingent - actually, the Arizona contingent. JLNobody is in Arizona, as is Ticomaya. (I am probably forgetting others). MM25075 is a poster I don't remember any harsh comments from. JLNobody, very good tightly written posts (often about buddhism or art) over many years, always thoughtful. I've never seen him insult anyone. Ticomaya is someone who doesn't insult gratuitously ever.

I'll add about Lightwizard that he is extremely knowledgeable about art, and is our prime go to guy re art valuation.

Thomas is also smart about economics, besides other subjects mentioned.

Which brings up Germany, Thomas being from there - Walter Hinteler should be added to the german contingent. He knows a lot about social work, has interests in politics, history, art, and much else.

Green Witch is an expert on landscape design and installation, ecological issues; very knowledgeable about art.

Dlowan is a sort of renaissance woman, who is an expert in much about therapy/psychology among other subjects. Vikorr, Firefly, and now recently, Dr. Dick, appear to work in these fields too.

Pemerson is another in the Texas contingent. I tend to agree with her a lot, so
I have a positive bias toward her right there.

A texan who many at a2k don't know of because she hasn't posted for years, is Tartarin. She is an accomplished artist (she sent me her slides once, and I nearly fell off my chair they were so interesting). Particularly the painting, "The Pear at the Frick", or some title like that. She was involved in a lot of politics threads, making... tart observations. I mention her as she is worth looking up for those interested in politics, and she may show up if you look at old politics threads.

On the departed souls list, I'll add PaolaL, an a2ker interested in art, architecture, politics, food, was publishing european travel guides (lived in Rome and New York). I still miss her.

Which brings up Clary, whom I don't think has visited since at least the change to the last rendition of a2k - an intrepid traveler and raconteur, also a guide writer to Hong Kong in a major travel series.

I'd better stop with this, at least for a while.

Khethil

Absolutely just kidding; haven't we all felt unacknowledged from time to time? I know that feeling well... I'm married

Many a2k personalities know much more than one or two subjects to comment on.

Robert Gentel's life would read like a novel. He is one of the very highest caliber folk you will run across. I will leave it to others to say any more. I don't feel it is my place to do it, for some reason.

I always thought Ticomaya was a Kansan.

He's a lawyer, so we make allowances.

Thank you Osso Smile I try hard to give positive uplifiting advice/prespective on things. Although I don't post a whole lot in the really hot topics, I do read a ton of them and keep my mind open to other peoples ideas.

I'll add a couple more I know:

Shewolf, Chai, Aldistar, engineer, Arella Mae, Linkat, hamburger and a host of others are very good at giving compassionate but 'tell it like it is' relationship advice.

BorisKitten is a super nice lady from FL who likes to dabble a bit in make up fun and encourages people to find rescused animals to care for. *licks BK* I always love her stories of her Happy kitty Very Happy

Thanks for the intro, Mame! By the way, do we now call you an ex-BCer? Confused

@failures art,
You have an interesting idea of not being provoked. Even if you are attacked with iron bars and knives whilst legally boarding a vessel it appears if you are just a poor poor Palestinian terrorist you HAVE been provoked but the Israeli miltary have not provoked.

The fact that you ironically declare that you don't like to insult first and then enter a thread by attacking individuals is the perfect illustration of how oblivious you are to the poor quality of your posts.
Now Arty, you know what happens when you get all worked up over saving the world and it wont do what you tell it to do.
Quote:
but stop pretending like you're some victim you damn crybaby.
Clearly a provoked attack on me....as are all attacks on me but not on the little cliche of left whingers and their bleeding hearts club . Crybaby ? It will surprise you to know then that I am smiling at your inabilities.

You've done well to introduce yourself in this thread.
I agree. Which is more than can be said for the inbred backslappers here.

Walter Hinteler is a poster I love to follow. He has not checked in that often of late. Same with slappy doohoo.

Cripes, people, can't ya quit with the posturing for once and just be kind to the new folk (and not be jerks to each other) at least until the dust settles? Or don't post in this topic at all and leave it alone. A little discretion. Try it. It's nice.
