@salima,
Salima, look to the upper right part of the banner at the top of the page, and you'll see your screen name and the word 'inbox' - click that and you'll find the pm system. (Your old pms are stored and will be added at some point, Robert says.)

@salima,
I am feeling in the same boat as you Salima. It was always a welcome to look around the layout of the forum and find the people that were well known.
The avatars are really small as well!
It's all a bit hectic at the moment, but this is a good thread to keep our forum together at the moment.

A big thank you to Sometime for creating it.

@salima,
salima,
when you type a reply, you look at this. The upper bar has BB codes and emoticons for you to use.

@CalamityJane,
Oh OK, I noticed all my old posts are f'd up. That's because I used to write everything in word or Open Office and paste it into the post thingy.

I think the old philforum site had an extremely good layout that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Sorry, but I cannot say the same for this site. However, I do recognize that change is often a good thing and the good is often shadowed by the level of uncofortableness that comes with any change.

Here's to hoping the community continues strong.

@CalamityJane,
thanks calamity-
i wouldnt be looking at that unless i click on the bbcode editor, which i didnt notice at first...can you exp[lain what it means to post a reply after a particular person's comment-there is no way to quote someone in our comment so they will know who we are addressing, right? and what does "reply to all" mean?

Great to see you and yes this is the desert until we can dig our own oasis.
I feel like an elephant with out his memory at the moment.

I asked before but what do we punch into our browser to get us here?

Hi Sometime...

Go to the Home page and click on Books... there's a Neil Gaiman fan proposing to create bookcovers for nonexistent books.

Heck yea. We're home. And the creative writing section... (imagine emoticon)

@salima,
salima,

if you want to reply to a specific post: click the name of the poster and you
automatically reply to his/her post, plus you'll see their reply underneath
as I did with yours now.

reply to all: just subject oriented not addressing anyone in particular.

If you want to reply to an excerpt of a particular post then just copy and paste
the paragraph and use the quote function, or click quote on their post
and the entire post will be quoted.
