DO NOT WATCH, if you are offended by coarse language or stereo typing, but as an Irishman I find this hilarious. So ****ing funny.

@eurocelticyankee,
It must be my Texas heritage. I can't understand what the characters are saying, all but one very coarse word.

@edgarblythe,
I agree, but I don't really like that word either.

But It's such a send up of the stereo typical Irish, It's funny, but he could have done it without THAT word.

@eurocelticyankee,
I know many people, both on line and off, to whom that word is merely part of the language. I picked it up while serving in the Navy. Quite a vocabulary I had back then. But, I almost let it slip out in my mother's presence. She cut me a look that instantly paralyzed my vocal cords. Since then, I rarely use it.

@edgarblythe,
A wise man, there's nothing like the evil eye from your Mother to make one stop and think.
My wife hates the word and will rebuke anybody who attempts to use it in her presence. So it is simply not in my vocabulary, but I hear it used a lot in everyday life, unfortunately.

@eurocelticyankee,
I did my best never to swear in the presence of my family. My wife and I did our best to keep racist and swear words out of their thoughts. Of course, its not possible to protect children from the world at large, but we wanted them to know there are better options. Today, all four of them use some forms of swear words, but not egregiously. I don't believe any are racist. All are self sufficient and doing better materially than I at the same ages.

http://omg.yahoo.com/news/the-king-and-i-travels-with-elvis-stepbrother/51055

SELMA, N.C. - His sermon complete, the visiting preacher offers a benediction, then steps out into the vestibule to shake hands and perhaps sell a few copies of his testimonial book.

From the mob that forms, a girl pushes to the front and thrusts out her hand to reveal a bejeweled Elvis Presley wristwatch. The preacher smiles graciously as a white-haired woman bends his ear about her pilgrimages to Graceland and confesses to keeping a cloth painting of "the King" on her bedroom wall. Others tell of watching Elvis on television or driving with friends to the next town over on Saturday afternoons to catch his latest movie.

The pastor beams. He knows most of the people who have turned out for evening service at Branch Chapel Freewill Baptist didn't come to hear Rick Stanley, evangelist.

They came for Elvis' stepbrother.

"Those little ladies, telling them stories. ... They think I'M Elvis," Stanley whispers, almost conspiratorially.

"Well, I'm the closest thing to it — to them."

Elvis has been dead 33 years, but his stepbrother is still on the road. For about 10 months of the year, the silver-haired evangelist crisscrosses the country, speaking in school auditoriums and preaching for "love offerings" in churches big and small, his message equal parts Holy Spirit and Elvis' ghost. Where he once worked behind the scenes as Presley's personal aid, Stanley has since become something of a celebrity himself — sharing the stage with the likes of Billy Graham and holding hands in prayer with former President Bill Clinton.

@edgarblythe,
Life once again is stranger than fiction.
As the saying goes," there's a sucker born every minute", P.T Barnum, I think.

But kudos to the guy for turning a buck.

My friend just sent me this saying: here's a headline you will likely only see once in your lifetime. I think she's right!

US woman gets 5-year term for assaulting neighbour dressed only in bridal skirt and veil

The Associated Press

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A woman is going to prison for breaking into her neighbour's house wearing nothing but a bridal skirt and veil.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown, Maryland, reports that a judge sentenced 33-year-old Melissa Wagaman on Thursday to five years. A jury had convicted her of second-degree assault, fourth-degree burglary and reckless endangerment for the February attack that injured Aaron Parrott.

Wagaman testified at trial that a combination of cold medicine and marijuana apparently made her hallucinate that she was getting married and that her mother was locked in her neighbour's basement.

Wagaman broke a dining room window with her head, causing shattered glass to cut an artery in her neighbour's arm.

Wagaman apologized to the Parrotts during Thursday's hearing.

@Reyn,
A likely story. He probably made up the whole story when his suicide attempt failed.
