Well, I feel a combination proud and embarrassed today. Embarrassed, because I tripped out in front of the office. Proud, because I avoided catastrophe. Coming down from the center landscaping island, I stepped over some decorative rocks. My other foot snagged one of those irregular edges and I toppled, like a big tree, face-first at the driveway paving. In the briefest instant, I realized that if I thrust my arms to break the fall, I was coming down heavily enough to break some bones. I tucked my arms and rolled, landing on my shoulder and rolling, then coming back to my feet, using my hands to help propel myself upward. Oh to have a youtube of this. But I got to be careful. At 68, I can't always land on my feet.

@edgarblythe,
I last fell when Dlowan and Roger and I were in the old town plaza area of Albuquerque before meeting up with Diane this October. I missed that there was a last step. I'm a lifetime practicing faller extraordinaire (but need to keep up bone strength). Anyway, they said I fell softly.. I think I did a bit of a roll too.
Dlowan fell when she was in England a bit before that. Maybe this plotzing stuff is catching.

@ossobuco,
Those inanimate objects lurk, waiting to snag the unwary.

I'm a klutz. If there is an errant corner or step, believe me I will find it or invent it just for the amusement of whoever my be lucky enough to catch my overly graceful movements. Glad you're all ok.

@Ceili,
Thanks. I had just finished telling a coworker that I wanted to wait on a third worker before tackling a job on a ladder - to be safe from a fall. Very Happy

I know I'm terrible but I just love Benny Hill style humour.
Shame on me.

@eurocelticyankee,
I find it odd that nobody even threatened to kick his ass.

@edgarblythe,
Who would want to go near that ass.
But true he would have got a thump if that had been my kid.
People are to easy going these days.

This is one of my favourite comedy shows on tv.
They get points for the most interesting and funny answers.

Perhaps. I worked some jobs where boards with protruding nails constantly got put on the dirt in working areas. I learned very quickly to pick up my foot at the slightest pressure from one of those nails. Never got stuck once.

@edgarblythe,
http://www.fortunecity.com/millennium/rollingacres/1250/Animations/1-animal/rabbit338x234.gif

Jimmy Carter explains Rabbit Attack.

He was out fishing in his boat, and a rabbit being chased by hounds jumped in the water and headed toward the boat. Mr. Carter hit the water with his paddle and the rabbit headed for shore.

It later developed into a story distorted by the press as a rabbit attack on the president.

Now the humor in a song.

Looks like these thieves need to go back to Thieving School. Always check the takings before taking off! Wink

Police: NYC thieves hold up pizzeria owners, flee with wrong bag of dough

The Associated Press

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Police in New York City say thieves held up the owners of a pizzeria and then fled with a bag full of dough — the kind that crusts are made of.

Police tell the Daily News that Salvatore LaRosa was charged with robbery after surrendering to police.

According to court papers, LaRosa and an accomplice followed the owners of Brothers Pizzeria on Staten Island. After donning masks, the papers say, they pointed guns and demanded the men turn over a bag they believed held the day's proceeds.

But instead, the bag was full of pizza dough.

LaRosa was released on $1 million bail on Monday. His attorney, James Froccaro, declined to comment.
