Funny thing, when I started smoking it was under conditions that we didn't have lots of food and had to spread it out, so I learned to not have the munchies. I would kinda get a little queasy and not want food. Been a long time, since 1983 or so - wonder if I would wanna eat now?

I wonder how much poor diet had been a factor in that story where not enough calcium in their diet meant softer bones (skulls) leading to a greater vulnerability when hit in the noggin with the hail stones.

Interesting thought. Of course, all we have are the skeletons of those who died, we don't know if anybody survived. Maybe these poor souls were just the ones who had no shelter of any kind, even a bundle to hide under.

This one was hard for me to concentrate on. I like pencils, y'know, have owned, played, and worked with many of them for hours and hours. Not only do I have an electric pencil sharpener, I have an electric eraser. In fact, I think my luggage was delayed once while authorities figured out what the hell that thing was in my baggage, the eraser. Maybe it held explosive? Nah.

But, lordy, a subsumed pencil in the nares?

I don't want to look up the link, but this is an oddity I read today. A man wished to be photographed next to a beaver. He somehow got the beaver upset, because the beaver killed him.
