My lawn has stayed constantly soaked this year, but I have thought about going with rocks and gravel numerous times.

@Rockhead,
I have a small pushie. One wheel corroded off and I stuck it back on with self tapping screws. It leans very badly when I push the sucker. The gas to motor ratio is screwed, so the motor races hard. So far, it works.

@edgarblythe,
no wonder you hate mowing...

If I can ever work a visit, I have a small rider I never use. I'll bring it along...

I got it all ready and tuned up for mr vw's brother, and then he didn't need it anymore.

sitting while mowing makes for a much better attitude by far...

Mystery of the 'alien corpse' woman stored in her fridge for two years

If the aliens really are landing, this latest picture seems to confirm that their first port of call on Earth will be Russia.

After other claims of extraterrestrial life turning up in Siberia, the latest is from a Russian woman who says she kept a frozen alien corpse in her fridge.

The mysterious 'lifeform' was reportedly kept by Marta Yegorovnam in her fridge in the western Russian city of Petrozavodsk for two years, while she took five pictures to prove its existence.

@edgarblythe,
Heck. IF forced to read either the bible or the 50 Shades trilogy. Even as an atheist, I'd have to choose the bloody bible and suffer through that.

@tsarstepan,
I'll tell you why he wasn't detected. He is an 11 year old boy with a firm purpose.
My two, when they were 11 or 12, did whatever they damned well pleased without fear of being caught because they had planned every move with the same precision as any other band of criminals.

I'm surprised the kid told anyone he was running away, my two would have disembarked, meandered through Italian customs and hitched a ride into town by saying they were meeting their father at the Colosseum.

Man charged for refusing to leave NC jail

The Associated Press
Published: July 25th, 2012 04:29 AM

WENTWORTH, N.C. - A man who'd just been released from jail in northern North Carolina was arrested again for refusing to leave the jail after authorities wouldn't give him a ride to a motel.

The News & Record of Greensboro reports that 37-year-old Rodney Dwayne Valentine was charged with trespassing.

Valentine was released from the Rockingham County jail Saturday morning after being behind bars since May 22. The sheriff's office says he asked them to drive him to a local motel and they refused. Deputies charged Valentine with second-degree trespassing when he had refused to leave the jail by Saturday afternoon.

He's being held on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 9. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
