Oh, no. My shortstop, Troy Tulowitzki, who has been doing well for me, got hit by a pitch. Broken wrist. He will be out for 6 to 8 weeks minimum.
Shortstops are in short supply this year. I can't find anyone remotely comparable.

today will be a rather interesting day on yahoo sports.

George is all tied up with us Squirrels. neck and neck...

and he started streaming us yesterday.

so I waited till he went to bed and pulled a fast one. just enough to tip the scales, or topple the cart. depends where the pitches fall.

have a great sunday kids...

good luck G.

@Rockhead,
7 SP's in the Sunday's games between George and Rockhead. But it will come down to some hitting category. Rockhead wins.

There are tentative plans for an A2K event in NYC in early October. Dlowan the Wabbit from Aus will be in town.
I can see it now. The poker game: Rockhead from the west. RealJohn(are we playing for real money)Boy from the sticks, Big Momma Jespah, Smiling Thomas, the ever calculating George and, probably cleaning everyone out, Ehbeth the Cannuck.

@realjohnboy,
that's outside of my range at the moment.

I could meet y'all in Manhattan, KS. with a little notice, of course.

and yes, I would keep an eye on the canajun woman. sneaky sharp, that one...

Zambrano is running outta gas, but Lou let him hit. (he likes to hit...) Wink

looks like i get to keep the lead until tonight's game...

on a side note, this is not a good day to be a Brian Fuentes owner. (mcG)

I don't think he can blow the save as he started with a 9 run lead, but it appears they are gonna leave him out there till he gets 3 outs. however many runs it takes...

(ouch)

edit:
he hadda have somebody else get the third one. thank you t. bell...

after one inning this week, we have an ERA of 45 and a whip of 6.

it's going to be that kind of week...

It won't happen, I suspect, but my SP Chris Carpenter has a shutout going through 8 innings. Leading 1-0, but he has thrown 107 pitches. Unlikely to appear in the 9th. Sigh.

@realjohnboy,
I was afraid to watch...did he do it?

Jose was nice enough to leave a complete game shutout on the bench for us yesterday. (thank you jose)

today we are gonna do the pitching scramble. (toss in four mostly inconsistent flamethrowers, mix well, and see what you got...)

when do they announce the all star representatives?

@Rockhead,
No. Chris (9-1) was taken out at the start of the bottom of the 9th. 114 pitches, 3 hits, 4 walks and 8 strikeouts. Good job.
The only run in the 1-0 win came in the top of the 9th with a two-out RBI by my guy Matt Holliday.
