Although the "point" Fresky thinks he is making here is both vague to the point of meaninglessness and poorly "made" in any event, at least he seems to agree with you, Frank.
I take him to be saying that you can't properly embrace either theism or atheism on the basis of the "evidence." That is not the motivation which guides most people, even if they like to think otherwise.
