I'm tired of discussing this on the Atheism thread. The main reason I posted here was to make some points about empirical certainty.

But before I take leave, I should mention this about Jesus' name, since you seem so concerned about it: You do know, of course, that Jesus (Yeshua, Joshua) literally means "Jehovah's salvation".

So you're saying you don't intend to keep feeding the troll . . . but before you leave, you'll just throw one more hunk of raw meat out there, huh? You two have trashed this thread as effectively as any of the Jesus freaks who have shown up here have--it's a little late for you to start asserting your virtue.

The word "trashed" is a very subjective term and is heavily freighted with the prejudices and preferences of the individuals who use it.

This thread would be boring if I didn't come in here to entertain you all by slapping Neo around when he keeps picking fights with me..

Well, this thread was trashed shortly after it was created thanks to the god-botherers and self-important twits--but why don't you and your new boyfriend find somewhere else to play?

I disagree ed. You possibly don't know that the words in that post of mine were Setanta's on another thread with reference to a different pair of words.

Setanta gave somebody the lesson and shortly afterwards fell into the exact same fault that he had criticised.

Why anybody would take the slightest notice of somebody who does that sort of thing is beyond me.

I have lost count of the number of times a poster has taken the time to explain to somebody that assertions are meaningless and then start asserting themselves.

How can a thread that is always on the first two pages of My Posts be "trashed"? It would seem that "trashed" simply means an American bigot is not getting all his own way.

Yeah. But, spendi: It's one thing when a believer affirms his belief. But few of the regulars on this thread seem interested in sectarian disputes.

What else would an atheist thread be about, except to commiserate and bitch about what it's like to make up 6% of the US population.

Or that it's probably much more than 6% but many don't come out for many of the reasons that have been talked about on this thread.

I believe there is more to it than that, underneath it all, and if that is all it is, what's wrong with that? It doesn't hurt anybody.

there's nothing wrong with that except when people come here to espouse the reasons atheism is a belief...
and it doesn't hurt anything in the long run like you say.
