I've got to stop eating so stupidly.
chunks of chicken, cheese, nuts, pickles, yogurt, ice cream with topping - all standing up at the counter reading the newspaper.

Maybe what you are reading is making you hungry. Laughing

Been working on push-ups. I do 3 sets of 8-10 for three days, then on the fourth day do as many as I can. ( I started out with 3 sets of 5 with my top being 11) Now the top is 17. (Maporshe, 46! jezuss! good on you!)

I'm on around day 30. going well.

sullyfish - don't stand at the counter to eat!
At least sit down somewhere else, with the food on a plate.

@chai2,
Yep, food goes on plates. It does help to slow you down.

I am back to walking. Dunno if I will make the goal of getting to the gym by the 15th. I want to -- not to get too gross about it -- not be doing wound care when I head back to the gym. More important for me to avoid infections right now.

But I am lifting at home! This is day, erm, four, I think. 10 lbs. I had been up to 40, will get back there by April or so, I figure. Will ease up if it feels like too much, too soon.

That was Reege.
I once knew a girl who wore a 46 push-up.

@George,
I've been keeping up with my jogging.
(Yay, me.)
The snow isn't sticking here, so I was going to run, but I forgot my socks.

@George,

black socks may be worn in an emergency, but only if wearing running shorts.
said socks must be pulled up to knee level (or above, as applicable)...

@jespah,
Do you use freeweights or resistance bands?

I used to screw around with weights until I discovered the bands, now I'll never go back. They've really helped me and my wife get toned.

@Cycloptichorn,
My daughter has a resistance band for ballet, I could probably mess around with it -- what do you do?

Nothing much to report here, working out, integrated a new weight routine about three weeks ago, like it fine.

I have two separate bands, one light and one heavy - and I do every exercise you can imagine. Both of mine have a 'door anchor,' basically a fat knob attached to them which you close in a door to provide an anchor point.

I do light stretches to warm up, then shoulder press, a variety of chest presses, pushups w/resistence, triceps, lunges, everything you can imagine. I also invested in a chin-up bar so I could do Frenchies, and that has revolutionzied my climbing - highly recommend it. Even if you don't think that pull-ups are for you, simply hanging off of it dramatically increases your upper-body strength as you push yourself to hold on longer and longer.

Here's a good place to start:

It's the smooth resistance which is the best, plus you can pack them and take them with you anywhere. Love em.

Cheers

Water aerobics are the best. But, who's got an indoor pool in Michigan?
Those Endless Pools are on my "Lottery List". They start at $12,000 - $20,000 and can be dropped wherever you have a $30,000 room addition for it to go in.

Up to 40 minutes in an intense aerobic workout on a small trampoline and started to lift light weights to build up arms.

Summer's coming!!

I have (and use) both. For recovery, I cut back from all three bands to just one. At some point I'll add a second, etc. Doc doesn't want me working the abs for at least another week.

Very interesting, Cycloptichorn, I very seldom saw people using bands at the gym, but the ones who did looked more toned than muscular, I hope it's clear what I mean.
I have a small set of weights and spend half my time spinning and unspinning the nuts to change the amounts. Going to go to Modell's to check out a band or two.

I have used black socks before. I stopped when I started bleeding through
the tops of my running shoes.

36 and sunny. Great day for a run.
The knees are doing well.
The best thing I could do for them is to lose this layer of hybernation fat.
