I thought the on-side kick was a mistake. They should have kicked away and let the defense do it's job.

@Seed,
Indeed, Seed. Seed, along with Cyclo, Ddjjd and JPB had the Jets.
Fortunately, Rockhead brought some lumber and his tools and was able to craft an addition to the losers' bench. Rhyss, Cowdoc, Mysteryman and Osso join Infrablue, Lmur, Tico and Rockhead amongst those out of the running for the Super Bowl.

Cowdoc will update the scoreboard with regards to the points from our Salmon, ID studio.
8 players are kaput.
7 of us have 1 team still contending.
14 of us have 2 teams still alive.

The quote of the day comes from Vikings coach Brad Childress on the popular opinion that the Cowboys were going to be on a roll:
"The Tasmanian devils were coming from Dallas that were about to bombard the state of Minnesota and run through us like Sherman through the south."

And Cowboys linebacker Keith Brooking on the Vikings TD with less than 2 minutes left and the score 27-3: "It was totally classless and disrespectful."

@CowDoc,
"There is a little game-within-a-game thing where we accumulate points for correct picks: 1 point for good pick in the Wild Card Games, 2 points for correct picks in the Divisional Round, 5 in the Championship Round and 6 in the Super Bowl Game."

I Hate You, Tico. Evil or Very Mad

Rjb, I change my predictions:

NEW ORLEANS
Minnesota
Indianapolis
San Diego

Didn't that count?

(BTW, after the Saints showed their power over the hapless Cards, I think I will not hate Tico until the next Fantasy Baseball season)

I should have picked the first round of the playoffs too - I'd be winning this thing.

@fbaezer,
My apologies, Fbaezer. I seem to have skipped over reading a number of posts on page 11.
Cowdoc or JPB can should adjust the tally sheet to reflect your going 3-1 this week.

Infrablue had them (Cowboys) winning the Super Bowl. He joins Lmur, Rockhead and Tico on the "losers" bench.

It's getting mighty crowded. Newcomers - get yer own frickin' bench.

@lmur,
nah, I expanded it like rjb suggested.

there is room for all of us losers.

I hadda pick up a sponsor for all that lumber, however.

welcome, poor pickers to the group W bench.

(thanks arlo)

In the points game, the 8 experts on ESPN come up with 7, 6, 6, 6, 5, 4, 4 & 4.
They have the luxury of not having to pick all the way through next week and the Super Bowl in one sitting like we had to do.
Please don't ask me to justify why a correct pick in the Wild Card games was worth 1 point, 2 points in last weekend's games, 5 next week and 6 in the Super Bowl.
I am not sure what it is I am trying to reward. We will have to see how it plays out. Too late to change the rules now.

Event of a tie? Did anyone pick the same score?
