If I hear "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" on the PA system at the local McDonald's one more time, I may get arrested for commiting mayhem. That and "Feliz Navidad" are driving me up the wall.

@Lustig Andrei,
We don't seem to be doing carols booming all over the place here this year.

I agree that Mummy Kissing Santa Claus is cause for justifiable homicide.

@dlowan,
Would you believe they have two or three different versions of it??? And they play them all, alternately, from time to time. It's cruel and unusual punishment is what that is. Unconstitutional even!

@dlowan,
Oh they go bananas on all the holidays here. They have a few Xmas carols sung in Hawaiian, too. And some of them are just adaptations of English-language drivel e.g. Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Drunken Reindeer.

Is it OK to ask who you were on Abuzz, PF?
No worries if you'd prefer not to say, OK?
It's just that I'm an intensely curious person! Wink

I hope you're feeling a bit perkier today.
but if not .......:

(((((((( Christmas hug #2 )))))))))))))

And there are a lot more where those come from! (I've saved them up! )

Ah, thank you, boomer, for that timely contribution.

But, where are the rest of you wingers, whiners & Christmas moaners?
That's what I'd like to know!
Let's face it, you are NOT pulling your weight!

I have survived the back to back 14 hour days. On the bright side I will be catching some great over time pay for this week. Yes, Michael Jackson crooning "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa" 12 times a day is beginning to take its toll. I'm working the closing shift on Christmas Eve and the instant I close those doors for the day the station is getting changed to rock and roll.

@Aldistar,
That's the spirit, Aldistar!

....but I'm pleased you're receiving overtime pay, at least.
Though I know that is small compensation for enduring Michael Jackson singing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa" so many times a day, for so long. Wink

Wanna hear a really crappy thing that my state government (Victoria, Oz) did to workers having to work tomorrow (Christmas Day) ?
They removed Christmas day from the state's official public holiday list, so Victorian workers won't be able to receive holiday penalty rates, like every other state in Australia.
Now that is what I call mean, say nothing of politically motivated!
A pox on you, Ted Baillieu (premier of Victoria) and your poxy conservative (Liberal ... ha!) government!
Shame on you.

And announced just a few days before Christmas, Andrew ....

I can't tell you how much pleasure it gives me to expose their politically motivated meanness to the world! Twisted Evil

@PandaFan,
Alas no...
I was, amazing to me in retrospect because of the impact on me, only at abuzz for about a year, towards the end of it. It was the first place I signed up for when I got a new computer, email, etc., since I then read the paper version of the NYTimes and saw it mentioned there. I got addicted to abuzz right away, in what others have noted was the time of its fast slide downhill. Hard to remember threads specifically, though I do remember Dlowan's Digression threads with some fervor.

@ossobuco,
I believe one of my first digressions was about my waterbra and it freezing or some such thing. Nice blasts from the past keep you going sometimes
