Congrats! I ran today, too, 8km...but actually only ran about 4 of those, the rest was walking/talking with a friend.

7km today, pining for muscle memory to meet the current reality, but we'll get there, we'll get there. Discovered a forest near my house Shocked . Who knew?

@dagmaraka,
Neat!

Results are up -- http://www.coolrunning.com/results/10/ma/Aug21_3rdAnn_1_set1.shtml

I beat a buncha people! They were all walking but hey, I still beat 'em! Next I'll target the people running with jogging strollers. Cool

@Thomas,

we're going no matter what.
hopefully we'll both be at full strength.

if not, we'll walk it... or, worst-case, collect our t-shirts and watch the healthy people race...

@jespah,
Luv ya, jes. I figure at my best I jogged 4 miles in an hour, aka, 15 minutes. Well, there was some uphill in that, but also some downhill. I was at my worst on non wetted and packed sand. Keep on kicking, and catch those stroller folks...

@Thomas,
Pretty much well. I suspect we won't have voices - Red Sox game is tomorrow and I intend to yell a LOT. Smile

@jespah,
46:39 for me
46:40 for RP (we ran/walked it together)
Thomas creamed us, it took him I think 33 minutes and change.

We're about to go out for Thai.

@jespah,
Aha! I was so interested in whether Jes beat region that I forgot to ask Thomas how he did! Sorry, Thomas. Congrats.

Thanks, and no worries. Actually, I'm sorry myself for not asking if you'd like to join us for lunch. You seemed on a mission with your gardening, so It felt wrong to put you in conflict at the time. But afterwards, I thought it should have been your decision. Oh well… but maybe we'll all see each other in New York.

Ran four miles in Central Park in my fastest time this year, and my second-fastest ever. Now the question is, will that be enough to finish the 18-mile run next Sunday within the time limit of four hours? I did a trial run last week, and after two rounds around The Loop (the 18-miler will be three) I was seven minutes too slow: 2:47. Now I have eight days to shave off seven minutes, and gain the endurance for a third round at this pace. I'm afraid it'll be a close shave.
