I hope that restaurant is closed and everybody who owned it is
safely serving time in HELL or ATTICA.

Was that Mama Leone's? I remember my parents talking about it,
specifically that my mother didn't like it. Never went there myself.
I was there many times; no health problems.
I usually had their lasanya. Toward the end of its existence,
maybe its last ten or 15 years, it was covertly sold, after which its quality declined.

In my last well remembered trip to NYC in 2003 I met two a2kers, Diane and PaolaL, at Serafinas -
where, yes, I had ravioli con tartufo and a glass of white wine. Babbo, however, is the restaurant
I'd like to try if I ever get back there again.
We 've been to Babbo maybe 2 or 3 years ago.

@OmSigDAVID,
"(Is it like incest or cannibalism if u have ossobuco?)"

It's a learning experience.. not that I've had in in restaurants that many times, but like many italian dishes it's been different in each place.

I used to judge Italian restaurants by their lasanya.

@OmSigDAVID,
Italian food can vary based on not only the region, but the specific area. Fun, a luxury of course, to dine at ristoranti or trattorie in the area a dish is known be be from - but even in the area some places will cook such and such differently, per the cook or chef, and some will taste better or worse to the diner on the basis of his or her own preconceptions.

Understood. R u Italian? How do u distinguish
between the ristoranti and the trattorie?
(I don 't speak Italian.)

Edgar 's Cafe (referring to Edgar Allan Poe, who lived nearby, but has since vacated)
255 West 84 Street New York, NY is good for an extremely lite meal,
but mostly for its wonderful desserts; it has delicately SOFT profiteroles.
I go there and have several orders thereof.
Most places thru out America (including expensive ones) give u profiteroles that u r lucky
if u don t break your teeth; perverted crunchy recipes for French pastry.

Edgar 's Cafe has a plethora, or several plethoras, of good desserts.

@OmSigDAVID,
Did you read that to the end? I thought as a page it gave a good summary of the inherent confusion.

@tsarstepan,
Yes, and they don't keep as well -- I think they should come with more durable mainsprings, and that tiny little wind-up thingamajig is way too small for my fingers. It's like trying to plug in all the components into the back of a surround receiver. Of course, they are energy efficient and they won't short out.

All right, A2Kers have to fess up about taking this thread seriously. Sales of truffle slicers have jumped 20% in the last few days. (That, of course, means six more people bought one).
