An evasion to my point, which doesn't surprise me at all. I presume that if you had a real counter-argument, you would use it. To make my point even clearer, this person cruelly inflicted immense pain, and we know he's guilty. He deserved the punishment he got.

You stupid bastard. I have given counter argument already.

Name calling is the lowest form of debate. Kindly point me to a post of yours that specifically counters what I said. If you won't, then the rational conclusion is that you can't.

I tried to be nice to you on a political thread. You called me and everyone on the thread imbeciles and quit the thread. Why do you expect consideration here? As for your post, you were playing on raw emotion and not reason. You gave no discussion to counter, except, What if you or a relative were his victims? (paraphrased) Well, one of my nearest, dearest brothers was senselessly murdered. That does not even touch what I wrote earlier.

I disagree with you - the primary weak spots are the people who implement/interpret the law. Not saying that some laws don't need to be updated or corrected, but usually it's the operator not the machine that's at fault.

So true. Going off on a strange tangent, I once toured the patent cell system in the old and defunct sheriff's office in Silverton, Co. It may have been built in the 1800's, but nobody was going to escape from a system like that. Yet, over a hundred years later, crooks still manage to break out of jails and even prisons. Indeed, it's the operator not the machine that is at fault.

possibly, but it's so much more fun than spouting off multitudes of facts and taking the time to construct rational arguments

My argument is that this individual, Muhammad, deliberately inflicted death and great pain on many people, apparently with no empathy for them, and, thus, he deserves to die. If you actually want to put your opinion into fair competition with mine, and you started this by responding to me, then that is the assertion you should be arguing against.

As for name calling, I have been called every name in the book here by liberals many, many times. If I did call someone imbeciles, it's pretty minor compared to any number of things which have been said to me here.

A Point of Information concerning that, Edgar, if I may:
with reference to that murder,
have u ever wished that your brother
had possessed a loaded gun at the time of this crime?

or that u had been there with a gun at the necessary time?

This is not a rhetorical question.
I ask in earnest.

@OmSigDAVID,
DAVID, How would owning a gun have stopped the Malvos and Muhammed team?? If you know the answer then you should get your ass down to Quantico and pass on this vital information.

@OmSigDAVID,
Guns are useless in the situation involving my relative. He was taken by surprise from behind, by a three quarter ton truck.

@OmSigDAVID,
most target crimes of murder are done at the surprise of the victim and having a gun wouldnt do squat. Most Mafia hits were on well armed victims performed by stealthy shooters.

@farmerman,
had i been armed and pumping gas and the man next to me had been shot

i would have pulled my piece and began firing wildly in the perceived direction of the shooter

sure i probably would have killed a few innocent folks, but let's face it, it's a small price to pay for knowing i did my best

@edgarblythe,
As a minor footnote: for a number of days during the shooting spree before Muhammed and Malvo were arrested in a beat up sedan, attention focused on a pattern of eye-witness reports about a white van being in the area of a number of the shootings. I suspect the police ran checks on license numbers of white vans.
So you should have aimed your fire at drivers of white vans...like me.

@realjohnboy,
I don't recall if a white van ever got implicated after that. But the modifications to the car they drove was enough for me.

@edgarblythe,
No about the white van. Eye-witness accounts, while well intended, are notorious for being pretty inaccurate. I think as a the drama unfolded the white van was an accidental red herring.

@realjohnboy,
A coincidental series of such sightings could at first seem significant, I'm sure.

For sure, and I don't at all fault the authorities and the media for running with that theory.
