Ah...just woke up after only 2 hours sleep after coming home late from the Halloween party.

In about an hour I'll be on my way up to Green Bay to watch Brett Favre return to Titletown and hopefully destroy the Packers. I'm not a fan of either team, but I'll be dressed in purple and crowded by a sea of green & yellow.

Hopefully I can crawl out of 9th place this week. Happy Football Day!

Thanks, JPB, and Mis Cowdoc.
It is 40 degrees and overcast in Salmon this morning but is expected to be mostly sunny and in the low 50's for the next few days.
JPB, I gather, is in New Orleans celebrating the Day of the Dead.
The Day of the Dead could describe the game today between Detroit and St Louis.

Good afternoon.
ARE YOU FAST OR ARE YOU FOOD?
I read this week about an event in England that proves conclusively that we here in the colonies don't have a lock on stupidity when it comes to sports.
The Timberland shoe company got rugby player Ben Cohen to "race" a 60kg Canadian gray wolf over 40m...at Wembley Stadium. The crowd, of course, was rooting for the wolf to devour Mr Cohen.
But the organizers built a fence separating the wolf from the runner and from the crowd.
And they are off. Mr Cohen runs and runs hard. The wolf, whose name is Rover, wanders around for a bit and then takes a piss.
Who would name a wolf Rover?

So here we are in Week #8. Will will we be fast or food.
I am calling the Philly-NYG game a tossup.
We are unanimous about the chances of Indy, Chicago and New Orleans. Only Jespah has Oakland over San Diego and Mis Cowdoc and Rhyss see Carolina beating the new heartthrob Arizona Cardinals.
I am surprised at how many folks are picking Tenn (9) and how few are picking Green Bay (8).
I liked the "welcome home" sign in Green Bay this week as Brett Farve returns to the city he played in for 16 seasons: "We will never forget you, Brent."

Liontamerx, Tico, ElStud and Ragman agree with the majority on every game. The 1st two have Philly while the latter pair have NY.
Jespah disagrees with the majority on 5 games followed by Cowdoc, Mis Cowdoc and Rhyss with 4.

@realjohnboy,
Nice...after 5 mins into the Iggles-Giants game, Philly put them in the hole 13-0. Seems that this game is going to be a high scoring affair. If I hadn't changed my pick, the Iggles would be still scoreless. Giants can blame me.

Boys are now 7-3 over She-hawks.

The early games are done.
McGentrix, Mis Cowdoc, Maporsche and JPB have managed to avoid Rover, the wolf. They each have only one wrong pick so far. Several folks with 2.
And then there is Ehbeth with 5 wrong.

Sorry, Spendi, but that particular idiom from your side of the pond is unfamiliar to me. Is there a Western translation?

By my reckoning, Mis Cowdoc is 11-1 and will win the week. Maporsche and JPB are at 10-2. We all have New Orleans tomorrow night.

Oops. Scratch the part about JPB going 10-2. She is more like 8-4.

When your team wins you are over the moon and when it loses you are sick as a parrot. Anything else and you have watered down love.

Both games shown here I had the loser. But I enjoyed them now that I have been abled to know more about the game thanks to rjb and the rest of you.

What beats me is how a player can score a TD starting from his own end zone. Twice. And the Jet's last TD was so mysterious that only the guy who scored it knew about it. It should be called the Invisible Ball game.
