@CowDoc,
A New Yorker cartoon from years ago:
(Scene 1): Timmy up to his chest in quicksand, yelling "Lassie, get help!"
(Scene 2): Lassie lying on a psychiatrist's couch.

@Region Philbis,
It would have been funnier if it was a damsel in distress calling down to a man in the street from a high window. The man can then be shown on the psychiatric couch and there would be a gain in realism as well as humour.

One might have a man who looks like someone we all know if an extra frisson of satire is required.

As it is it lets the viewer off a bit.

I'm gonna go with the Irish over the Saints.

The Buckeyes have been lookin' good, but i don't think they can beat the Redskins.

The Sooners will make absolute monkeys outta the Rams, and . . .

(What? . . . What the hell are you talkin' about? . . . Leave me alone, i'm tryin' to post here . . . Oh, OK, but i don't see why my opinion isn't just as good as anyone else's . . . )

All things being equal at this point in time, given the parameters, I'll agree with you on those nominees.
