@ossobuco,
on a tangent...will Crabtree ever report and put the 'niners over the top?
@panzade,
I have a vested interest in that very thing as Crabtree remains in limbo on my fantasy football team roster. And with each passing week I am feeling more like an idiot for holding onto him.
@Foxfyre,
he's a clever pick for Fantasy...just bad luck
guess from now on you'd better look at who the agent is for those rookie picks.
Good afternoon.
13-3. That will be this week's winning score. 13-3. But who will the winner be? One of 7 players now tied at 12-3.
Jespah (final score in tonight's game: 17-7) and Fbaezer (31-24) have Carolina.
McGentrix (31-17), Liontamerx (24-13), Mysteryman (24-17), Alex (30-7) and Spendius (31-15) have Dallas.

Probably a good idea. But I didn't pick him for me. The Yahoo computer did. And there's no way to sue for malpractice.
I think Liontamerx wins. I think.
That was great. What a shootout in picks.
@alex240101,
way to go Alex...and LionTamer...congrats
Good afternoon and congratulations to Liontamerx for winning Week #3.
Dallas beat Carolina Monday night 21-7. That left Liontamerx, Spendius, Alex, McGentrix and Mysteryman tied at 13-3. The 1st tiebreaker was the player closest to the winning team's score. Lion and Mysteryman said 24 while the others were thinking it would be 30 or so. The 2nd tiebreaker was the player closest to the losing team's score. Lion predicted 13 while Mysteryman said 17.
And that was that.
A bunch of us came in at 12-4 for the week. ElStud, Ragman, JPB, Osso, Fbaezer, Cowdoc, Panzade, Edgar, Jespah, Ehbeth and - having his 1st decent week - George.
Maporsche, Johnboy, Fox, Wandeljw, Region and Ms Cowdoc finished at 11-5. Tico and Rhyss managed to go 10-6, with Imur, Clubber and Jpinmilw at 9-7.
The best expert on ESPN went 12-4 while the worst was at 10-6.
It was a great week for us as a group. We went 310-122 for a record of .718 vs a score of .551 in Week #2. We were .708 in Week #1.
Back in a bit with the standings. But 1st a public service ad to athletes everywhere about how it is a really, really bad idea to twitter about how stupid you think your coach is. Apparently a member of the Jets and a college player at Texas Tech didn't realize they were, in effect, putting up a billboard.
@realjohnboy,
Well, I have a Twitter account that I rarely look at--I'm a Facebook person--but I'm pretty sure that you tweet instead of 'twitter'. But point well taken re advertising your feelings about your boss(es) worldwide. That was really dumb.

Au contraire. All my weeks have been excellent. It's those dumb NFL teams
that keep screwing up.

Do you mean this year or over the past four years?
(I am only joking, George. All of us here love you.
)
@realjohnboy,
Congrats to Lion, and the not far behind other 13-3 ers.

Hey, one of these weeks the Giants and Jets will lose and the Patriots will win
and I'll look like a prophet!
One of these weeks.
After 3 weeks of NFL games:
1) McGentrix had another good week and holds onto 1st with .792;
2) Elstud stays in 2nd with .750;
2) Osso finished-for the 3rd week-at 12-4, good for a share of 2nd at .750;
4) Spendius climbs from 8th, ending at .730;
5) Tico slips from 2nd, resting on .709;
5) Ehbeth sticks to her knitting with .709, rising from 8th;
5) Maporsche bounced back from a bad Week #2, ending at .709;
8) Johnboy goes nowhere, hanging in 8th at .688 with a few friends;
8) Ragman is at .688 and moves up from 12th;
8) JPB is at .688 and moves up from 12th;
8) Wandeljw goes nowhere, hanging in 8th at .688 with a few friends;
8) Liontamerx finishes at .688 and bumps up from 14th;
13) Fbaezer, at .667 moves up a notch from 14th;
13) Panzade, at .667 moves up a notch from 14th;
13) Clubber stumbles, falling from 6th and ending at .667;
16) JPinmilw was a bit rusty-falling from 2nd and closing at .657;
17) Fox slips from 14th and is at .646;
17) Cowdoc is at .646 and moves up from 20th, and-ain't this special-
17) Ms Cowdoc is at .646, dropping from 14th;
20) Region improves to .625 but is becalmed in 20th;
21) Edgar moves up from 24th and is at .605;
21) Imur is at .605 but- with a bad week - drops from 14th;
21) Alex is also at .605 and rises from 25th. And Detroit won;
24) Mysteryman's good week gets him to .584 and he climbs from 27th;
24) Rhyss is at .584 and he drops from 22nd;
24) Jespah is at .584, good enough to move up from 25th;
27) Rockhead didn't play. If he comes back he will be at .563;
28) George has some catching up to do. He is still in the cellar with .542.
There are many weeks to go. We have only picked 48 games. It doesn't take much to move the numbers.
The best ESPN guy has a record of .750 which would put him in a tie for 2nd.
The least successful guy is at .646, putting him in the group tied for 17th.
@realjohnboy,
I think you made an error, RJB: You have Spendius positioned above me.
@realjohnboy,

I enjoyed that rj. I must admit it caused a rosy glow of self satisfaction to suffuse my whole being not dissimilar to that when leaving Tico for dead from an inch onside and sticking it in to the top corner of the net out of the reach of the advancing goalie's despairing fingertips in the last minute of goal-less Champion's League final.
I saw the Greatest Touchdown ever video that panzade put up, for which thanks, and I must say that it's nothing like a bulging goal net spectacle of the type I just roughly outlined. Your TD only dawns on the audience in dribs and dribs and the existential moment is diffused which the goal net bulging spectacle enhances.
Every big stadium has its own goal net designers and they are getting more and more imaginative. There's a bulge in the net which has a shimmering effect with the floodlights reflecting off the strands of the net. I predict there will be an ad woven into those strands before long. Only those directly behind the goal and those at the other end, which is the name of a club in Greenwich Village where Dylan used to blow his little heart out for the coppers in the basket, can see that the drilled ball is going into the net and those at the sides can't without this visual aid. What can you do with whether a foot is over a painted line on the ground or not. The shimmering net causes an eruption of joy. It's more orgasmic in the best sense. And all the more explosive for having waited so long for it. All this 36-29 and 42-29 stuff is like it dribbling out in a thin gruel.
When you go one down in the last minute of a Champion's League final you are fucked. There's no coming back. Not usually. Manchester United did it once and it nearly set the city alight.
I shall not rest on everyone elses laurels.

sticks in your craw...don't it?
