Rhyss' picks:
San Diego
Atlanta
Cincy
Oakland
Green Bay
Miami
Baltimore
Carolina
New England
New Orleans
Arizona
San Francisco
Philadelphia
NEW YORK JETS
Dallas
Minnesota (20-10)

Rhyss explained that he hates the Jets as much as his dad does, but he dislikes Peyton more. He realizes he may not get any figgy pudding this weekend as a result of that pick.

I was looking at recipes for figgy pudding. Might give it a try. Anyone done it?

@realjohnboy,
Clubber (who is quietly making some noise here in the standings) picks:
San Diego
Atlanta
Cincy
Oakland
Green Bay
Miami
Pittsburgh (of course)
NY Giants
Jacksonville
New Orleans
Arizona
San Francisco
Philly
Indy
Dallas
Minn (24-14)

He asked me to wish yall good luck in this week's games and also a fine weekend. I told him a bit about Spendius. Andy said it was a good thing he (Andy) is not on A2K to participate in the great cricket vs American football debate. But, Spendi, he said good luck to you in the final 2 weeks of this quest for the championship.

I've done it. There's nothing to it. It almost cooks itself.

@realjohnboy,
I take figs as small favors. Like them, with some care. Blessed are they who have fresh figs available.

What piqued my interest in figgy pudding was a story produced by the local NPR affiliate about a community group of singers' holiday concert in which they have the song with a line about figgy pudding. In the course of rehearsals, numerous members made and brought in a version.
The comment was made to the effect that figgy pudding, once common in the U.K. has fallen out of popular favor. Much the same way that, in the U.S, the fruitcake is now maligned...perhaps because it can often also be used as a doorstop.
One recipe I saw called for orange marmalade as an ingredient. That seems to me to be a good idea.

@realjohnboy,

Not that I promote this recipe - it's a link. I like panforte with a sip of vin santo, but I'm just one of millions.
