Of course, a few pages of search engine results show the massive number of children ending up dead when one of them accidentally fires a gun.
Not always though. Sometimes they fire the gun and kill a relative or neighbor.

Car accidents and swimming pool accidents also kill a lot of people.

There's really no reason for the average person to have a gun.

Wrong again. But it wouldn't matter even if you had been right, as we are a free country where people have the right to carry a gun if they choose to do so.

We're not European serfs who are allowed to do something only if we can convince our masters that we "need" to do it.

Go try selling your fascist anti-freedom crap in Europe. We don't like fascism here in America.

And sure as hell no reason to have any sort of assault weapons.

Assault weapons have been all but outlawed for the past 85 years now.

Self defense in a violent society is the only reason needed. Beside it being a right and that persons right no matter how average he or she is.

How many of those 33 dead had a gun to defend themselves? In other words, **** happens but Americans have a fighting chance.

Have you seen the clip of Bloomberg saying that church-goers should be unarmed and unable to defend themselves when people try to massacre them?

Progressives don't care about saving lives. The only thing that progressives care about is the sadistic pleasure that they get from violating people's civil liberties.

The day I become fascist, is the day I'll nominate you for town genius.

Neither is about to happen.

@coldjoint,
The society wouldn't be one tenth as violent if there wasn't such a proliferation of weapons.

Advocating taking rights away you have quite a head start on being a fascist already.

You have no way to prove that. Have you seen the problem with knives in London?

Your recognition of my IQ is not particularly relevant.

You and fascism have a similar disdain for freedom and civil liberties.

Wrong again. The presence of weapons has not been shown to cause violence.

They are also tools. Used properly they are no danger to anyone, just like guns in the hands of law abiding citizens.

Lots of things are weapons.

Weapons are a part of life.

Coldjoint already understands.

You are the one who was making untrue claims about weapons.

Gun zealots don't seem to have them, which is why they've been a major source for arming the criminal market.

@oralloy,
SCOTUS hasn't bought your rather twisted view of what the 2nd amendment means. Until they do, if they ever do, it remains just your fantasy with no actual legality.

@MontereyJack,
There is nothing twisted about upholding our civil liberties.

And no, the Second Amendment is in effect even if our courts do not enforce it. The NRA enforced the Second Amendment for decades without any help from the Supreme Court.

@oralloy,
te 2nd amendment is what the supreme court says it is. Not what the nra fsantasizes that it is. that's the way the constitution works.

@MontereyJack,
That is incorrect. The meaning of the Second Amendment is clear. Nothing that the Supreme Court says will change what it means.
