@oralloy,
That rightists ignore thousands of fatal violations of civil rights and instead engage in endless vacuous drivel about imaginary civil liberties violations says a lot about them.

@MontereyJack,
There is nothing imaginary about the civil liberties violation when progressives outlaw pistol grips on semi-auto rifles without any justification.

Preventing progressives from outlawing pistol grips on semi-auto rifles does not ignore any fatalities, because progressive efforts to outlaw pistol grips on semi-auto rifles are not about trying to save any lives to begin with.

@oralloy,
Stop with the nutball pistol grip argument. It made no sense three years ago with your first version of it. It's still nonsense.

I have to agree with Buttigieg, as horrible as the deaths are because of gun violence, the gun debate and what to do about it is useless unless we do something about the NRA influence. Also Biden had a point about the gun manufacturers, start making the manufactures of high compacity magazine guns pay fines for producing the guns in which multiple people can be killed in minutes. I am not so sure a buy back program would work in reality.

@revelette3,
Eliminating the influence of people who care about civil liberties (i.e. the voters) would require eliminating democracy.

So in other words, what Buttigieg is saying is that progressives can't violate people's civil liberties for fun unless they get rid of democracy first.

Nice to see a snippet of the true progressive agenda: first get rid of democracy, then get rid of civil liberties.

And who said progressives aren't Stalinists at heart?

Pointing out that it is wrong for progressives to violate people's civil liberties for fun is hardly nutball.

And no. I will not stop defending civil liberties. Request denied.

That is incorrect. Defending civil liberties always makes sense.

This is why Trump is such a great president. He protects us from progressives who say that civil liberties are nonsense.

No, defending our civil liberties is not nutball. Neither is it feeble crap.

The outcome is that there will be no new gun laws passed. I'm fine with that outcome.

I didnt call Congress a buncha nutballs (although the sobriquet does fit quite a few). Congress is made up Mostly of toadies and pussies who care not about their constituencies, only their re-election purses.

@MontereyJack,
The only reason the DNC won so many seats in 2018 had nothing to do with the NRA and everything to do with the Russian collusion lie. DNC strategy was to run on impeachment and impeachment only. In fact the House hasn't passed anything since they came into power, except maybe some bogus gun control law. Talk about a do nothing Congress.

So what you are saying is that the DNC ran on Trump impeachment in the 2018 election and then got punked by the release of the Mueller report. So we now sit with a do nothing House who's only aim is to impeach Trump. Have you asked yourself why Pelosi refused to hold a vote again on impeachment?

Face it, the DNC has nothing to offer the American people except the promise of others people's money.
