Funny how the founding fathers enumerated clearly what your rights are: freedom of religion, free speech, free press, free movement, equal access, due process, the right to face accusers, the right to vote etc, never specifically spelled out the right of individuals outside of a well regulated militia to own arms.

What about out right to the pursuit of happiness, the right not to be shot down in the streets when stopping gun violence isn't so hard to accomplish.

Your push to ban "semi-auto rifles with pistol grips" is not designed to stop any gun violence, and is not designed to stop any violations of anyone's civil rights.

The Second Amendment does not describe the parameters of the preexisting right to keep an bear arms. It merely protects that preexisting right.

That is incorrect. They protected the preexisting right to keep and bear arms, and that preexisting right includes the right of non-militiamen to have guns that are effective for self defense.
