@coldjoint,
BVefore you start babbling about the Constitution, do a little reseach on it, disregard the NRA's faux history and blatant hijacking of it. The 2nd Amendment very specifically talks about gumns ONLY in the context of militias, because it was put in there to settle a burning issue in the 18th century that has no resonance today , trhat is, the role of militias to defend the country when everybody hated standing armies, like the English army they'd fought in the Revolution, which was seen as tyrannical. The 2nd amendment settled an argument between the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists as to the role of the militia, as it actually says was its purpose, if you read it. Nothing about self-protection or hunting aor anything else. Just militia. With the invention of the machine gun, planes, aerial bombardment, tanks, and guided milliles, and with the ascent kof the US as a world power which required a standing army (the Founding Fathers would be horrified), 18th century militia had no reasonable role today, nor has the 2nd amendment any purpose. So the NR wwrencehd it from its roots and what it really said, as ex=SCOTUS justices truthfully tell us. The only rights" the NRA is protecting are far too often those of the kpeople who misuse guns. Most Americans, contra your views, do NOTsupport the number of innocents, particularly yuoungpeopel and students, who are cut down every year, year after year, by gun viiolence. Since the NRA has done nothing to reduce that carnage, and indeed acts to increase it by gutting every attemptl to recue the carnage. Which is why the NR's image is suffering such drastic hits.
