@dyslexia,
better clarify that with the pros...
I remember reading over the years that 1 single aspirin's blood thinning effects can last up to five days. Which is why many take baby aspirin, but each person is presumably a special case.
And doc number 1 might not have known about coumadin/wayfarin.

Another prime example of the fine American health system (crap!)
Be wealthy, be well insured, or be buggered!

@margo,
Not to add fuel to that particular fire, if you're going to be well insured, you darn well better be wealthy. That, or commit all your assets to insurance, in hopes of getting sick enough to make it pay off.

I'll take "wealthy", given a choice.

Looks like the Dys has connected with UNM (university of new mexico). Will leave it to him to tell the rest, and just say that I'm glad.

I am no expert either, but there are special low-dosage aspirins for adults who have been told to take "one aspirin a day". (The dosage may even be less than baby aspirin.)

My doctor also told me I should be taking one low-dosage aspirin daily "because of my age" (I am 55).

@wandeljw,
81 mg, is the lowest dose i've seen, and make sure it's a coated aspirin, much easier on the stomache

@djjd62,
THIS issue re: warfarin v aspirin. My cardio has reccomended that I take BOTH. She states that they eachj operate on a different enzyme stream and dont conflict. She says you are wearing a belt and suspenders. The hospital research group is from Lankanau Cardio Hospital and Rehab Center and this is a really great bunch of folks with a real cardio mission.

Haven't heard much from Dys or Diane lately. Wondering how things are going, and hoping for the best.

Love you two.

@Eva,
Eva, I talked to Dys two days ago and his voice was stronger than I've heard it for months. He's getting around with his walker OK and his pain is much less. Both he and Diane are sleeping better. Dante has finally forgiven Dys and is willing to cuddle with him.

@Eva,
good day yesterday, Lady dropped me off at UNM Hospital lobby and using my walker I made it to the second floor Coumadin clinic (about 3 miles more or less) Lady met me at clinic with wheelchair, the clinic dropped my Coumadin about %75 we then went to Calico Cafe where we ate huevos rancheros consisting of corn tortillas fried lightly, and fried eggs with a tomato"greenchili saulsa. Refried beans (frijoles refritos), , fried potatoes, and extra chili peppers. I am down to one pain pill (Darvin) per day. I get the staples taken out from my surgery in 2 weeks.
