The ramp in the garage is short and if Dys starts going too fast, within two feet he will run into the front of my PT Cruiser. This won't be a problem for him. What would be a problem is if he ran into the Porche. Dys is already dented and wrinkled and rough around the edges, which gives him loads of character, whereas the Porche, well...that's his baby.

I had a herb around on gran's motorised scoot over xmas. It were good fun with the speed control wound up all the way. Slam the throttle on in just the right place coming off the ramp into the garage, lean back suddenly and she would hop up onto the back wheels. (But we didnt tell gran about that).

Ya had to watch getting the handle bars crossed up though whilst in the air. When the front came back down it did NOT react the same way a motocross bike would.

Good. Now, make it affordable, and collapsable so one can tuck it into the back seat of a roomy car.

Sears has been selling them for years. I see them on occupational therapist's lists at least once a month. Usually about $300 - $500. Tri-fold.

Update and a2k prayers and vibes time -

Bob and Diane went to have him get the xray this morning, and I've been staying here because the good wheelchair is supposed to be delivered today. She rushed in after the xray and told me the hip is certainly broken and they were going to the ER and rushed out. I soon realized I didn't know what e.r., and so on.

Last I've heard!! Until just now. Diane just called, and Bob is due to go in for a hip replacement at seven o'clock. Everyone is amazed at his dealing with this pain. Diane is coming home for a short bit and then going right back. I asked re updating on a2k and she said that would be good...

So - the hospital is Presbyterian on Central, same one Diane was in, probably the orthopedic surgery area - no room number yet, of course.

I'll follow with more hospital info after this post.

@ossobuco,
Urrg, I can't cut and paste the link - not my computer -
just google for
Presbyterian Hospital Central Avenue Albuquerque

I know some don't know Bob's last name - I'll let Diane give that or at least ask her before giving it. I suppose The Cowboy wouldn't be so great for email delivery..

Hi, all. Just got home a bit ago.

I am in relief that Bob is under medical observation. He has a strong will, which, far as I can see/was described, was adhered to in all this. The surgery is tough on the healthy, and he doesn't fit that description, but he's a feisty son of barbeque (fill in your own b's).

Looking forward to his future caustic remarks.
