and I walked into a dark hall

I took down my american flag from in front of my house

I think the appropriate symbol, given how you feel, is to hang the flag upside down -- which signals severe distress. I would be very suprised if French Patriots in 1940 stopped hissing their flag after the German invasion.

I bought my American Flag at George Washington 's estate, Mt. Vernon,
on the 4th of July 1984. I was there during a Mensa Annual Gathering.
We took a boat trip up the Potomac River from Washington.
I flew that Flag in George Washington 's bedroom on the 4th of July. I took it to the National Archives
and flew it over the Declaration of Independence and over the US Constitution.

I only mentioned that when I was at home alone at age 8,
I felt mildly ill-at-ease as to how I coud defend the place
if that became necessary, until I was able to arm myself
against burglars or street robbers.

I do not understand how a feeling of mental relaxation
can be considered a " boast ". Will u explain that ?

As sure as I am of Obama and his Demos in Congress moving to end
freedom in America, I am equally as sure that he will not sneak in
thru my window to steal my DVD player.
