I have an important announcement to make, at 9 p.m. EST (that's the best time for ratings, ain't it?).

Perfect! (That's 6 p.m. on West Coast, so that's prime time all across the country.) And on a Monday to boot! (Almost always a slow news day.)
Do you have an economic plan to announce? <scurries frantically to see what the market did today>
<starts distributing tamales for the press (mole, for the daring; strawberry for the sweets prone)>
@fbaezer,
mole.... (insert Homer visual)
next door neighbor during early teen years was the queen of said.
Kansas will burn forever Red.
@fbaezer,
Save me a couple of the strawberry ones. I hafta go change my outfit.
Which do you think would be best? An embroidered folk art dress, or the standard-issue pastel pantsuit?
@Eva,
An embroidered folk art dress,
Hello everyone. Hope you are enjoying your tamales.
Thank you for coming and reading.
As I said before, I have an important announcement to make.
According to the polls, my candidacy for President of the United States is alive and well in many countries, but it is going nowhere in the USA. If things continue to go this way, I will have no electoral votes where they really count. Zero. Zip.
I will not blame you, fine people of the press and your vacuum, for this.
I will not blame, either, an unjust system that keeps 95% of the World population from a decision that affects us all -as every investor on Earth know, sadly-.
I will not blame internal defeatism (Blatham, are you listening???).
Finally, I will not blame my VP candidate, Mr. Cicerone Imposter, for going in a cruise to the Mexican Riviera precisely now, and then on to Bhutan (perhaps to escape from disgruntled former followers in Mexico).
Things happen. And they do for a reason.
I am withdrawing from the Presidential race. At the same time I am endorsing Senator Barack Obama.
He's That One... err... The One... err... he's the guy who'll bring the Whole Enchilada home.
He should be the next President of the United States.
I thank my loyal followers, specially those on A2K, and I ask them to vote for Obama on November 4th. The world cannot afford another 4 years of Republicans at the White House.
I also ask other contestants (Ralph Nader, can you hear me?!!!!) to do the same.
Finally I ask my campaign manager (hey Eva, nice folky dress!) to charge everyone 5 bucks for each couple of tamales you have munched.
Thank you very much.
NO-O-O-O-O!!!!
You were the best man for the job, Pancho. We all thought so!
Still, the electoral reality bites.
And if you can't be President, at least you've thrown your support behind the best alternative.
Has anybody told McCain about this yet? It's been a bad day for him, and your endorsement of Obama will only make things worse. I hear he's campaigning in Juarez tonight. I wonder how he'll react when he sees this on CNN. They say he has an awful temper.

Shhh, don't tell him. He was wooing my base, trying to avoid third place.
@msolga,
We're all disappointed, msolga.
Pancho appreciates your support.
You can drop your $5 in the sombrero by the door.

Piker!
We'll make a bigger world-wide movement on 2012.
Now, drop the $5, please. Don't matter if they're Australian dollars.
@fbaezer,
That was a bold move, Baez. It shows your pragmatic good sense, which will stand you in good stead for the next election. Who knows, you may be asked to be part of Obama's advisory team.
Here's my five dollars, a good deal for homemade mole tamales.

Thank you, osso.
I'm going to phone my pal Barack, now.

You'll likely be put on hold until he's through with his phone call from that other pal, Lieberman.
@fbaezer,
It could be a while. Fair bit of ground to walk back.
You could, of course, just pretend you are having the conversation and then go to bed.
