@cicerone imposter,
I think Obama did well in the debate when he responded to McCain's sweeping statement that he would freeze all federal spending (except mandatory spending) by stating McCain's plan is like taking a HATCHET to the budget when the problem requires a scalpel.

Again, the difference between the way McCain will lead vs. the way Obama will lead is top down vs. bottom up. McCain will continue the failed policies of trickle down economics. Obama will rebuild our country from the bottom up.

McCain doesn't get it.

Transcript:

Number of minutes in debate: 90

Number of times John McCain mentioned the middle class: zero

McCain doesn't get it.

Barack Obama does.

Barack Obama: The fundamentals of the economy have to be measured by whether or not the middle class is getting a fair shake. [Directing his comments to McCain] And when you look at your tax policies, you are neglecting people who are really struggling right now. I think that is a continuation of the last 8 years and we can't afford another 4.

I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message.

@Debra Law,
I truly believe that the American people are beginning to see McCain's economic policies that mirrors Bush. That's the reason the latest polls show Obama ahead on the economy by double-digits.

@Debra Law,
Of course, Senator Obama knows, as he said, who the "people are who are struggling now". Senator Obama worked hard during his three years as a Community Organizer on the South side of Chicago. He saw poverty first hand.
He also saw to it that his community received help when he was a state legislator.
Senator Obama will never forget who he is and will help his people. McCain is an elitist who doesn't even know how many houses he has!

I thought I saw him on that tour bus going down 63rd St. Did he make a PIT stop on Cottage Grove or was he merely waving his hand at the homeless folks being mugged by the Black Gangs doing drugs under the El?

Or...how come Obama-the -Wanna never got the Stock Yards to return to the SouthSide? Looks like Obama-the-Wanna didnt work hard enough.

Was he too busy getting his hair styled on 79th St?

So, why does his mother-in-law still live in a SouthSide slum, and his brother George live in a cardboard box?

Obama got short-term memory problems?

@Miller,
You realize, of course, that some people could construe your comments as being rabidly racist. You are not, are you? Just overheated?

ISN'T BARACK OBAMA A LIAR, A FOOL, OR BOTH A LIAR AND A FOOL?
He repeatedly alleges that the Bush Tax Cuts reduced the income taxes for the wealthy and not the middle class. That is false. For example, quoted below are the federal income tax rates for married tax payers filing jointly for the years 2000 (before the Bush tax cuts), and 2008 (after the Bush tax cuts).
Quote:__________________________________________________________________________
http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

2000
Married tax payers filing jointly,
marginal tax rate .. taxable income over ......... but not over
15% ........................... 000,000 ................... 043,050
28% ........................... 043,050 ................... 104,050
31% ........................... 104,050 ................... 158,550
36% ........................... 158,550 ................... 283,150
39.6% ......................... 283,150 .......................

2008
Married tax payers filing jointly,
marginal tax rate .. taxable income over ......... but not over
10% ........................... 000,000 ................... 016,050
15% ........................... 016,050 ................... 065,100
25% ........................... 065,100 ................... 131,450
28% ........................... 131,450 ................... 200,300
33% ........................... 200,300 ................... 357,700
35% ........................... 357,700 .......................
__________________________________________________________________

For example please notice:

(1) Those married couples filing jointly who earned $16,050 or less, had their tax rate reduced from 15% to 10%, a difference of 5%, while those who earned more than $357,700 had their tax rate reduced from 39.6% to 35%, a smaller difference of 4.6%.

(2) Those married couples filing jointly who earned between $43,050 and $65,100, had their tax rate reduced from 28% to 15%, a difference of 13%, while those who earned between $200,300 and $283,150 had their tax rate reduced from 36% to 33%, a difference of only 3%.

George Orwell's NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR constituted a prescient warning to humanity. Today in the excerpt below, “the Party” is Obama’s Party, and “Winston” is we who oppose Obama’s party.

Quote:__________________________________________________________________________
http://etext.library.adelaide.edu.au/o/orwell/george/o79n/
Part III, Chapter II,
'Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes: only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal. Whatever the Party holds to be the truth, is truth. It is impossible to see reality except by looking through the eyes of the Party. That is the fact that you have got to relearn, Winston. It needs an act of self-destruction, an effort of the will. You must humble yourself before you can become sane.'
