i just applied at a.. um strip club.

it seems highly likely ill get hired, funny i got into more than a few conversations with the strippers the doorman and the dj. the poor things.. some of them you can just see the sadness in their eyes.

i met 3 of them from my old highschool. my cousin dated 2 others, and one used to work with me at circus circus.

the world is crazy and very very tiny.....

Does it pay well?

I assume it's at night so you can go to school?

The only concern for me is the temptation of drugs around that environment.

Is it a nice place or a hole in the wall?

the drug thing is bad, really bad. the temptation wont be to do them its gonna be selling them to be honest...

its sorta an iffy place, but its 10 an hour. so i like it. haha

im not the kinda person to give in to peer pressure so ill be fine. i hope, im only a mere mortal and those girls are gorgeous...

thats all i need is to have a girl in pretty much no clothes offering me lines everyday.

oh god, thats like a form of torture.

Time to grow up, Peter Pan.

If you're wanting to turn your life around and have a decent chance at succeeding at it, this isn't exactly one of those opportunities at the top of the list of things to do for or to yourself. Are you setting yourself up for failure?

I'd equate it to a drunk trying to get back on the wagon while starting a job at the neighborhood watering hole. It just isn't the kind of supportive environment that will help you progress with the goals you've set for yourself.

How serious are you about wanting to achieve those goals? If it is just a lark, please let us know so we don't get too invested in trying to help you figure out how to get there.

Did you take a look at that list of articles on free scholarships, financial aid and how to save money on books for your courses? I posted it on your thread about art courses.

well onion, it is your decision, but frankly, I don't see this as one of those once in a lifetime opportunites you just can't pass up.

If pretty naked women offer you lines, chances are eventually you'll accept.

$10 an hour won't seem like anything then.

I'd concentrate for on the dog jobs if I were you.

Also, jobs in strip clubs are constantly open, you know that. It's not as if they are look to fill this job with anyone they expect to stay any length of time.

Also, working at a place like that would be pretty despressing, you know that too. $10 isn't that much for becoming depressed, tempted every day.

I gotta tell ya, this seems like you're taking the easy way out, one that won't advance you toward your goals.

I'm just sayin'

Do you have an old fashioned yellow pages? Go the section that lists vets and animal hospitals. Go in person and apply to every one of them within commuting distance. Don't be a street ass, be polite, dress nice and explain you are starting college and would like a job working with animals. It will pay about the same as the strip club, but you might actual learn something.
