@Izzie,
How's your cousin doing?

My family member just got a very good evaluation. Chemo is done, will get reevaluated some time after the first of the year.

Lots to be thankful for this year.

@jespah,
Hi all. Glad to hear the news, Jes. I hope my cousin fairs as well. She's looking like she will.

They fundraiser was last weekend. Even after a week of chemo, she was up for the party. They raised somewhere near 12,000 bucks!

@littlek,
Hi K:

In 2006 my sister-in-law was diagnosed with NHL, spread through the lymphatic system, and the PET image had her lit up like a Christmas tree. She had chemo which chased it into remission, and has followup Retuxin therapy which is keeping her clean.

She's back to doing her triathelons. Yes, much to give thanks for.

And best to your cuz.

She had her last chemo treatment last week and a spinal tap to boot. Things look promising. More when I hear.

Late last week she got results from her latest PET scan - cancer-free! I thought her parents would decide against radiation given that news. But, they are going to have her treated after all. She'll be starting radiation soon and it will run for a few weeks.

I dunno, the radiation makes me nervous. Hopefully it'll be targeted. Having that done to her at so young an age greatly increases her likelihood for other cancers later in life.

@littlek,
They got a second opinion in NY. Seems that the new Doc thinks treating a cancer that isn't there with radiation is NOT the way to go. Makes sense, but what do I know. So. They are fund raising to help cover expenses. Worry about radiation will come after a big concert event to raise money for doc debt and any on going treatment.
