Wishing you the best Edgar
Edgarb
You've just done what I wish I could do.
My time is definitely here - but...I still have a mortgage, and not enough to live on yet.
Every good wish heading your way.

Thanks, margo. It's pretty scary out there for a guy in my place, but I should manage.

I'll keep you in mind for food parcels! Vegemite OK?
Retirement is not under rated and way more fun than work. Unless your work is what you love to do all the time. Retirement is even more fun than having money to spend on silly stuff you do not need.

I love the travel idea. Wish it could work that way. I do want to plan a (last?) trip to California this year.
What part of California, Edgar?

Never had this vegemite stuff, but it might beat grub worms and crab grass.

I need food; mortgage money; leopard skin pillbox hats.

Possibly Lindsay and Fresno. I spent much of my childhood in Fresno, and there is a certain cemetery in Lindsay.
So, I laid my resignation on the desk. The boss suggested I may want to reconsider the part time job in October, when the weather changes. Not wishing to burn any bridges, I left the option open. After today, I don't even want to finish the two weeks I have left. But, I will.
edgar :
wishing you all the best !
i've always enjoyed life - but even more so AFTER my early retirement !
so many things to do , so much life to enjoy , it's too bad we have to wait so long until we can fially retire and REALLY enjoy life !

Thank you, hamburger. I am still eyeballing this brave new world. Almost like a deer caught in the headlights.
Congratulations, EdgarB, I'm glad you did it.
They will, of course, replace you with three people.
I can proudly look back on 16 years of service and call the state of the complex my doing. Not that I did it alone, but I was the only one consistently there, being productive.

just don't put your light under a bushel - turn on YOUR headlights and enjoy the scenery !
i'm always short of time ... but will make the time to tell you everything ... even if you don't want to know it !
Enjoy your retirement edgar.
