Can someone explain to me why Greinke would have been pulled after 8 scoreless innings with a 4-0 lead?

he had thrown 107 pitches -- that's a lot for a young pitcher in mid-april...

Alex -
Partly cloudy. Windy. Slight chance of rain and snow showers. Highs in the mid 50s to lower 60s. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph.

Grrr, I get tetchy with wind. Supposed to warm up by Saturday..

I'm not supposed to make critical decisions today.
But I dropped Jon Lester anyway.
I can't decide what to have for lunch.
I'm rambling incoherently.
But I think I spelled "incoherently" right.
Warmed-up spaghetti.
See? I can too make critical decisions.
I think I'll get a tattoo.

Biorhythms?

Here's the good news ... when Buchholz is demoted and the Sox bring up Colon, you can pick up Lester at that point.

The weather report for Scottsdale today is currently sunny, breezy, and 71 degrees, with a high of 78. Tomorrow's high, 82.

Region is, of course, correct. 110-120 pitches is pretty much the maximum a pitcher can go.
In addition, Tico pointed out a year or so ago, when I asked the same question, that teams have high-priced RPs on the bench who get quite grumpy when they don't get to play.
Frustrating, aint it?

Tonight's performance is so important, I will be personally attending the D-Backs v. Rockies game to make sure Mr. Francis has his mechanical flaws all worked out.

Except of course when he pitches to Mr. Reynolds.

And poor Matt Holliday has to face Brandon Webb. Could be ugly for him.

If you watch the game, I will be the only one rushing the mound wearing a suit. (And, no, not a "birthday" suit.)

I was eyeing Reynolds... you got him before I acted. (I might be settling down with all my player switching. Or maybe not.)

Well, Francis didn't listen very well, nor did Reynolds.

And I didn't realize I was not supposed to be cheering Byrnes when he hit his homer. Oh, well ... go D-Backs!

BTW, if you see the replay of Justin Upton's homer, I'm the guy about 3 rows down from where it landed.
