No, that number doesn't signify the number of players you have placed on waivers. It is your ranking for plucking players from the waiver wire. Since I was the last team to pull someone from waivers, my waiver ranking is now 12. That means every team besides me will get a chance to pick up a given player from waivers, before me.
Thus, if you and I
both put a request to pick up Evan Longoria tonight, you will get him and I will not ... because your waiver ranking is higher than mine. And if you get Longoria from waivers, your waiver ranking would then be 12, and mine would move up to 11 -- meaning I would be ranked higher than you, but not higher than anyone else.
Right now, only one team -- Cosmik Debris -- has a higher waiver ranking than you. (And if you're interested, the reason he has a higher waiver ranking is because your first draft selection was before him.)
