Gel, much of what I submit here is my opinion. That by now should be established fairly well, but in the interest of clarification, I will reaffirm that. I have, and state, opinions of my own. I frequently offer links or other citation supportive of conclusions expressed in my opinions, and while humanly fallible, I endeavor to provide means whereby verification may be found for any purely factual statement, assertion, or allegation I may present.

I have no objection to giving anyone a break, and I welcome questions and challenges, but I find it illogical that I be expected to remove obstacles to understanding which are placed in a questioner's path by the questioner in question.

I did not refer to Bush as a dog, i used the expression "thank dog" which is frequently used by atheists such as i, who do not wish to use the word god. You don't need to use me as a springboard for your vitriol--you have demonstrated time and again a native talent for vituperation. This isn't the first time that you've tried to use my posts as a basis for your hatefulness. Knock it off, write your own material.

Steve takes exception to Timber's posting of commentary found in the Washington Post.

Most people I know would place the Post to left of center.

How would Steve react if Timber utilized an article from National Review or the Weekly Standard?

Perhaps Steve thinks that the Nation or the Village Voice is more "balanced" than the Washington Post"

Steve is apparently unaware that, as far as the American public is concerned(and they are the key with regard to the election in November, not the few elitists in Manhattan, DC, or LA), information comes from the New York Times, the Washington Post, the numerous Cable channels( which are driving the left wingers Rather and his cohorts bonkers) and the ever growing group of conservatives on talk radio.

If Steve does not accept Timber's quote from the Post as corroboration for his(Timber's) comments, what will be accepted. If there is no material or commentary from people who are supposedly more well informed( Safire, Matthews, Border) because of their expertise and connections, then, if Steve's inclinations are followed, we will be left with personal opinion unsupported by any kind of evidence.

Personal Opinion on this venue is usually not worth more than a pitcher of wars spit since most of the contributors have little idea of what they are talking about.

If I am asked for the source of some of the contributions I make, I can and will provide those sources.

We are urged to be even handed and polite on this venue, yet we have people like Setanta calling our President a "dog".

Of course, if he can call our president a dog without showing why he does( his opinion only, I assume), then it is fair game to call former President Clinton a scumbag and his wife a bitch.

I think it would be more productive for someone like Setanta to show why he calls President Bush a dog so that his reasoning can be met head on.

Perhaps Setanta cannot articulate his reasons???

I would hope that he does so.

What a marvelous demonstration of your reading comprehension skills, IG. This is just the sort of thing for which the expression "hoist on his own petard" was created.

My, this is getting amusing. Not particularly topical, perhaps, but amusing. Whole lotta misperceivin' and misconstruin' goin' on here. Topical? Of course not. Typical? Quite evidently so.

Setanta:

Setanta has kindly tried to point out the error of your reading, but you seemed to take that as an invitation to mis-read him again.
