I really object to this conversation on the Albuquerque gathering thread. It may cause the thread to be locked, which would be a shame for all of the other people who would want to keep it open.

Please have consideration for the other participants in the gathering.

Hear hear, BBB!!!

JPB, I consider you a real friend, but you opened a big can of worms here and a bunch of us would really appreciate it if you'd take this elsewhere. We had a great time in Albuquerque, and that's what this thread is about. We should be able to come here and continue the camaraderie, much like everyone did on the Chicago thread after that gathering.

This is spoiling it. I respectfully ask you and CJ and anyone else wishing to discuss unpleasant matters on this thread to start a new discussion elsewhere.

NOW!!!

Fair enough, I respect that. It is just so unfortunate that people innocently
go to such gatherings and afterwards are slandered beyond belief.

My last post here in this thread - I apologize to the attendees in ABQ.

Thank you, BBB.

If slandering, or making insinuating remarks about someone has become the norm on a2k, it should be done on a separate thread. If it continues, no matter who the poster is, then I can no longer find a home here on a2k. For me, this is a place where I can come without stress and visit with friends.

What you are doing is not only directed at Walter, it is contaminating this entire thread, which is one of true friendship and wonderful memories.

Please, for the sake of the rest of us, if not for Walter, take this somewhere else. Please respect the rest of us.

Can't figure out just what was behind all the sound and fury here. let me just say that I have never seen anything mean, petty or mean-spirited come from Walter. We don't always agree, but he is invariably polite, restrained and without rancor in his dealings with others. I don't see any basis at all for the suggestions being made here about him - unless someone is just looking for a fight.

While some may wish simply to return to a supposed earlier tranquility here, that shouldn't trump the interests of fairness and fair play towards someone who has not made any public accusations of others.

So true, George.

Silly of me to want to go back to tranquility after all the innuendo. What I can't understand is why anyone who has a complaint about another doesn't go to the authorities, whether they be moderators or even the police.

While some may have been insulted, to accuse a person in public, especially Walter, who is a dear friend to most of us here, is in no way appropriate. I'm surprised both of you are doing this since Rockhead has personally experienced the pain of being publically accused of inappropriate behavior.

That kind of arrogance, which never takes into consideration the feelings of others, who might be friends with the person in question, is beyond my comprehension.

OK, no more tranquility, just please stop.

Waves at Eva.

Yeah Osso will be around shortly to fry me again, but it seems to lack effect.

We will take this up on my thread if anyone else is still looking to disparage.

I don't think any disparaging comments have been made by anyone here, except those rather odd ultimata and criticicms directed towards Walter. I reviewed the last several pages and could find nothing at all to justify it -- unless you choose to become indignant about Walter's obviouslly light-hearted and clearly ironic comment about contact data before he sends out a CD. Given that the materials in question are his property and that he was evidently willing to share them under some conditions, I can find no rational or reasonable basis whatever for criticisms or threats directed towards him.

If there is anything that is wrong here, it is surely that. It seems to me it is the obligation of those who started this, and who appear to have wrongfully accused another here, to correct this situation - or themselves to simply shut up and go away.

That is such a touching picture. Hard to reconcile with the 'giving the finger' night Laughing

That was one of the most fun evenings I've had in a long, long time. I loved bantering and kibbutzing with you, Dys. You're such a wit - you should meet georgeob1 - you two would get on famously. You're very similar. Both brilliant minds, able to discourse and debate on diverse topics. You're both very entertaining and love to tease. I feel equally comfortable with you both.

Mame is correct, dyslexia. You and georgeob would have a very interesting discussion together. When georgeob disagrees with people he is very polite. Also, georgeob would have no problem understanding your sense of humor.

What George said, double.

If anyone knows the thread where this can be discussed sensibly, please indicate.

I was aware that Walter took many nice pictures, and offered to send individuals a set. That's it.
