Sure... but have not found any good grits here but my own. Looks around...
Hmmm... I might want to bump butts with you while making pizza.

Kampgrounds of America -- nationwide network of campgrounds.

ok Kampcabin is cool choice - told the Mrs about this and she is not keen on the idea - says I am not in physical shape for this kind of adventure - booooooooo
I'm not giving this up yet
I am a good ole redneck, but "good grits" is an oxymoron to me.
Whew, that was a close one.
A woman called me today to do some relief cooking. The dates: May 15 to June 1. I said "Sure", and then I said, "but I was planning on being out of town the 16-19th... anyway we could work around that?"
I'm now going May 21 to June 5th. Yay.
W-O-W
renting a cabin through KOA is almost 200.00 less then the hotel room I have booked.
How .. er.. safe are those KOA's?
Are they full of drunk rednecks?
Naw, they're all up here.
Nice come back, Mame. LOL
Osso's right, I have asked that not too many people come over at once, but Bob-the Dys- has assured me that he will just go to bed if hebecomes too tired. If so, more people can come here and just visit together.
I will have some appetizer goodies, lots of soda pop and beer, so noone will starve until it's time for lunch or dinner.
If the weather is nice, our patio is a lovely place to just sit and visit.
So, it looks like JohnBoy has made some good suggestions about getting togerther in the mornings to decide who wants to do what so you all can take it from there.
Bob would be up for a trip up to the top of Sandia--on the road, not the tram--he's done that more times than he can remember and feels no need to repeat the experience. The drive up is beautiful, but the two offer two different experiences.
He also would enjoy a trip to Madrid on the Turquoise Trail and back to ABQ. If some would like to continue on to Santa Fe, we would need to take separate cars.
I hope there isn't anymore worry about where to go and what to do. By meeting for breakfast, it sounds like planning trips and activities for the rest of the day should be fairly easy, so we can all enjoy without feeling pressured to have each day planned. Relax, enjoy.
This group is wonderful. I can't wait for May.
If "good grits" is an oxymoron, "drunk rednecks" is a redundancy.
I had good grits for lunch.... grits with cheddar cheese, bacon, shrimp, green onion, and fresh parsley -- mmmmmmmmm

Yeah, and it bet it tasted like cheddar cheese, bacon, shrimp, green onion, and fresh parsley. Like I say, if you put enough ketsup and tabasco on something, it's going to taste like ketsup and Tabasco.
Coarse grinded grits are not that diff from coarse grinded polenta, if at all. Wonderful, cooked right, with a good bolognese, or, much more simple accompaniment.
There are more fine gritted polentas. (polente?? I'm working on liking them. Have, sometimes.)
This is a food that some have gotten to eat as nearly the only thing, or near only thing, not only in time of war, but of before war and after. (Not that I'm a food historian. Would be interested in more info.)
I like it, but not every day of the week, or weeks.
Not to pick a fight with Diane, but I think we could hear more about what people might like to do, besides sitting and talking for 72 hours. Sore bums in a wide open landscape...
You want 20 people with cell phones some morning, trying to figure where to go, at different hours of the morning? What morning when?
Let us figure out, at least, what are the least enjoyable possiblities, or most. We all, obviously, don't have to do everything together. But, maybe some of us at the same time.
Or the specific possibilities for going somewhere not by yourself...
Let's say, for a start, no one at all has expressed wanting to go to Santa Fe on this trip, but we now have Bob interested in Madrid and/or drive to the tram top. That might well beat a Tram ride.
Shall that be Satuday for some? or Sunday for some? Or too many hours for some? Please state..
Y'all want to leave this until breakfast?
I'll interject a ringer...
is the farmer's market in Corrales open that Sunday, a taste of Corrales even if you aren't buying a thing, with a possible subsequent stop at the Indigo Crow? (Some may want to stop at Anthro Pottery, another possibility, and other places, and I say this not as sales pitch.)
Diane and I fight all the time, 'tis invigorating. Even I call myself 'snot', but that can flip.
Join in, please, with a certain regard, which we do share.
Hi, Tico.
