Just to interject...everyone who is coming is an adult. They have had numerous suggestions put out there. Noone has objected to meeting for brealfast and discussing what to do for the day.

As I said, we are all adults, with the exception of Bean.

I vote for letting Bean decide!!!

Well, I'm not interested in tram rides or petroglyphs or sightseeing of any sort. I'm doing a quickie trip to see everybody, and if it's only at meal times, then that's how it is. I'll just poke around Old Town in between (with anyone else interested). I am willing to chauffeur people to dinners and whatnot, but I'm really not there for three days to tramp about.

As for when and where, I don't care. Just name the tune and I'll dance.

Mame, for example, is an admirable adult.

Ah, opinions forward, that is what we need, and more. Don't be shy!

If no one wants to go anywhere, much, plan A, which seems at least a good fraction of opinion, then we need to zero in on old town places and not too far away possibly amenable restaurants. (Don't make me list them again.)

But some will wish to move around, so we need a Plan B, and maybe C.

BBB
For those who would just enjoy sitting around in my home and/or back yard, talking, eating, using the bathroom, playing with my dogs, relaxing while talking, all are welcome for as long as people want.

I object. If I had flown or driven to a city, I'd like to know what the other eight or eleven or fourteen or nineteen were thinking of doing on a given day, besides deciding at breakfast, if only they knew where breakfast was.

I think we need to at least nail the mornings.

We need more opinions besides not wanting to go anywhere ever.

I'm close to giving up. Figure out where you want to go by yourselves.

Talk with you when a few weeks pass.

BBB, that sounds marvellous and you are such a sweetie... I'm happy to visit you at your digs and D&D at theirs... I don't mind running errands with people, either. I just want to hang out with everybody.

Others that have goals in mind can sort them out with other interested parties. PM'ing and whatnot, if need be. Although I'd give anything for a photo of shewolf huffing up the petroglyph trail Smile Look at all the good shots I'm missing out on.

Diane, some people are just natural-born organizers and it looks like Ossobuco (Ah-so boo-ko) is one of those Smile You need at least one of every type to make things work, n'est-ce pas?

I wish Francis, CJ, Ob1Kanobe, Sglass, Cyclo, Roxxx, MA and CI could make it... not to mention so many others I'd love to meet.

Oh well, there's always another day.

Yeah, for you, Rocky, I'd give it a go. (Jeepers, creepers)

Osso, blowing your nose is okay, but please don't be a "tissue nose" Smile

I'd rather you all organize yourselves, not kidding, that way you could figure out what you all think, and I should have stood up for that in the first place, and I probably did, not meaning that nastily. Will catch you as I can.

I vote that it's still awfully early to be nailing down specific plans, times, etc. But it is really nice to know we've got an organizer among us!

Hooray for Osso!!! (I pronounce it like Mame does. AH-so.)

No, no, no. Oh-so, dadgummit.

I'll be back in a few weeks, when you all figure out what you want to do, or at least the possibilities for given days, and figure out how to exchange accessibility information. I'm a natural organizer, but not this time.

Okay, so the breakfast and Mame's table dance are fixed.

The rest will be decided by Bean.

Works for me.

LOL Walter. Little kids usually come up with the most fun things to do. Hopscotch, for instance. Naturally, I would go right into cardiac arrest, but kid fun is real fun.

Okay, I am back to the drawing board here, with 5 weeks to go.
Some points:
1) There may be as many as 18 or 20 of us, locals and visitors, involved.
2) I was concerned at first that some of the visitors might not know anyone else and would be left twiddling their thumbs. Not true.
3) It appears that most everyone knows someone else who is coming.

If all that is correct, lets scrap pretty much every notion of organized events.

Instead, let me state for example that I will be arriving in downtown ALB on Thur 5/14. If anyone would like to meet with me, fine, Walter comes in later (past my bedtime). Drop me, that's fine.
And on Friday morning around 9 am I will be at the Callico Cafe. If anyone wants to join me, fine.

Post a place you might be sometime. We would love to join you.

We have talked about something at some place on Saturday evening. If there is interest in that, we may want a head count. Reservations or a private room might be appropriate.

Finally, when I started this thing, I was emphatic that the locals would not be expected to do anything. No "open houses" are needed. Instead, if so inclinded, they can invite whom they wish for a time that is convenient to them.
