What realjohnboy said: nine weeks to go.

And in nine weeks, on that Friday, most of us should be there.

What about those 'pending'?
Eva?
Tico?
Thomas?
... ... ...?

My scorecard shows about 8 folks in the "maybe" column. I do not intend to badger them. They know when and where the event is. They know that we all want them to come. It is their call now.

When did they not?

Are they in Europe?

Gus said something?

Looks like you're going to have to return that Canajun flag, Walter.

It looks like I, The Rappin' Rednecks, could be matched up with the Ticomaniacs in that time frame in Fantasy Baseball. That could explain his reluctance to come.

I'd like to meet Ticomaya myself, and hope you can still work out getting here, Tico. We might be an example of individuals who disagree on whole giant dollops of politics and religion and get along otherwise, first from politeness but then from a certain regard.. and past that, a sports regard. I might have beaten him in football, and he will certainly show me up in baseball - I am limitedlessly stupid in the fantasy game. And we both enjoy the Travel photo guessing thread, name of which I never remember.

In lieu of that, I hope when I take the road over to Phoenix some sunny fall or spring day that I get to meetcha.

On America, I think of it as a combo of hemispheres, north and south.

I realize that I'm a sort of loner on that as a US american. I've posted as being a US american a few times but it always seems 'affected' even as I type it.

I don't know why or at what time america and the usa became an equation, an equation for US folks. Maybe with the music?

I'll add that I think of Ireland, of what ever division, Scotland, Wales, England, as all being part of Europe, despite recent agglomerations.

I get there is disagreement, on these and other matters re different countries, but London is in Europe to me.

I suppose I am behind the times again. Please explain...

Absolutely.

Plus, Albq happens to be situated between AZ and KS.

Nearly all of us A2K Albuquerque residents are recent transplants from other states; many from California. What does that make us?

For myself, I know that California is gradually separating from the U.S. mainland and is heading for Alaska. I don't do well in icy cold so I moved to the High Desert to escape such a fate.
