Dadpad, Thank you for sharing with us. These are the kinda post we need more of, its heartwarming...........

I can tell that your chest is all puffed out with pride over both of your children...lol, and I find that sweet.

Your daughter is beautiful and looks to have a bubbly personality......

Daughter sent an sms: "V scary! call me."

so we called immediatly.

The snow mobile she was riding fell through the ice. The machine is now at the bottom of the Torne river. My daughter is not, thank god.

When she was little if we took her somewhere there was water she'd be in it.

Some things never change.

She also mentioned she was sick of being a grown up. (She's 20) Being responsible, having to turn up for work every day shopping paying her own bills. Apparently it all sucks.

Dadpad--

I hope her brother doesn't feel competitive. You don't need sibling rivalry right now.

The first part of your post made my heart drop.

But, as one parent of teens to another... Gotta love when they realize that rush to adulthood we warned them about hits home. Laughing

Cold_Erin is working nightshifts. Its ok apart from the drunks.

Apparently one of these "gentlemen" proposed to her. Unfortunatly (or fortunately) the women he married the day before caught him.

A group of Japanese business men managed to communicate via hand signals and variouse other means that they wanted their photos taken with authentic swedish girls. Cold_Erin was happy to oblige and did not deem it necessary to fully inform them.

Son pad back on track. Its school holidays and idle hands are the devils tools.

GF??? I think "kinda gf" is a better description.

Description: 15, Petite, VHMDC. (very high maintenance drama queen)

Does it matter?

Sonpad is riding the "My GF has destroyed my life" horse at present.

I think VHMDC. (very high maintenance drama queen) has dumped him.
Plenty more fish in the sea kid. (and they're all bitches anyway).

Mum is probably rejoicing that the Drama Queen will not be the mother of her grandchildren.

Aonpad has been working at a local cafe/eatery as a dishpig.

He bought his own computer at christmas time no net connection. Just a gamers rig.

He should have bought a chair as well.

Thanks Soz.

Ever wondered how to clean an ice hotel?

Apparently you put more snow in.

couldn't you just turn the hose on it? - providing the water in the hose isn't frozen (and it may be!)

Some friends of mine have their family winter shack (read 4-bedroom house!) not too far from the ice hotel - took the visiting Kiwi mother there for a surprise!

My (actually Mrs. Walter's) Swedish cousin used to be an entertainer - and playing with his band - in icehotels. And on ferries from Sweden to Russia/the Baltic states.

The latter not in winter, though. Due to ice.

I am now officially the father of one teenager and one young adult.

At 10.45 last night my wife said We were on our way to hospital 20 years ago.

How do you remember stuff like that I asked surely you had better things to be concentrating on than looking at the time.
