Just checking in to see if you and the nurse made contact today.

Hope you had a better day today.

I made the necessary call. The nurse will be here tomorrow.

I did some shopping today. The fresh air felt good. I committed an extravagance. There's a fancy shmancy bakery a block away. I went in and bought a piece of chocolate mousse cake and a piece of chocolate souffle cake. Too much money, but phooey. A person can't live by Oreos alone.

I wore the blue hat again. I was reminded why I hate hats and other head coverings. My head gets hot, sweats. My hair (what remains of it) must be dried. Glad to have the hats I need. Not glad to be wearing them.

I'm gonna have to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to hook up with the nurse. I'll set my alarm clock.

Getting bored and restless, but not up for work yet. I'm sleeping a lot. Love dem naps.

@Roberta,
Your body is the best guage to tell you when you can become more active; in the mean time, please rest your body and soul.

@Roberta,
A block away!?!?! That's great news that you're feeling able to do a bit of shopping and also walk that much. Yes, the fresh air (what little there is in NY) can do wonders for you.

Hey, don't leave us hanging at the precipice of chocolate nirvana. What did it look like, smell like, feel like, and taste like? Did you let it slowly melt down your throat? Bet that felt good, almost like a chocolate organism!!

I just finished the chocolate mousse cake. Not a slice. It was a whole, single-portion cake. Round. Covered in dark chocolate with sprinkles up the sides. The top had a dollop of thick, thick dark chocolate. The innards were light as air and sweet, sweet, sweet. Had two ice cold glasses of milk with the cake. Smiling. Satisfied. I was worried that I would not be able to tolerate the sweetness. I still haven't fully recovered from the radiation. But the sweetness was not a problem. The whole thing went down fine.

Manana the chocolate souffle cake. I'll report.

Butrflynet, Noo Yawk has plenty of air. Certainly more than you've got in your neck of the woods. I have no tolerance for altitudes. Sea level air is fine with me. It felt good to be outside. Even with a hat on my battered head.

@Roberta,
That sounds like bragging. Shouldn't you be feeling just a little guilt about that cake?

Roger, I will always brag about my hometown. No so much about me.

Aside from the cost, I feel no guilt about the cake. Why should I?

Cuz it's fattening? I lost 90 pounds from radiation treatments. I was encouraged by doctors to eat rich, fattening stuff. Not so much anymore, but still nothing to feel guilty about. Razz

@Roberta,
Because it was good? That's reason for guilt, all by itself.

@roger,
That's Catholic guilt, not Jewish guilt.

Can't sleep. Too many naps? Quien sabe?

Never heard of feeling guilty just because something is good. Soz must be right. Not my kinda guilt.

The nurse just left. A fine lady. She's going to see if she can arrange for a social worker to help me get my apartment clean. (It's a disaster area.)

I'm reacting normally to post op. Good BP (I knew that) and a fast pulse (knew that too) from the antiseizure meds.

She was pleased that I went shopping yesterday. Preparing foods. I'm hanging in.

It was a comfort to have someone here to look in on me. How do I know how I'm supposed to be feeling? Now I know. I'm about right for the circumstances.

@Roberta,
I think you're prolly better than normal for the circumstances, but I'm a bit biased...
