@roger,
I had a Jewish gramma and am married to a (former) Catholic boy -- I know from guilt.

I ordered in tonight, again seeking comfort. My last food extravagance. I got matzo ball soup (fair) and stuffed derma. Too mushy and salty. Tomorrow I'll have stuffed cabbage and the remainder of the soup.

There were loud booms coming from Central Park. Fireworks? Hey, shut the hell up with the explosions.

I feel a nap coming on. What do I do between naps? Sleep.

Appropriate. My cats do exactly the same. Right now, I think they're napping, but it is hard to tell.

Harkening back to my youth, I find comfort in my Yankees. Very Happy

This is the way things are supposed to be in October. I know there plenty of people who hate the Yankees. Nothin' I can do about that. I but love dem guys.

I was sitting on the couch remembering when my family moved close enough to Yankee Stadium to hear the crowd. "What the hell was that?" said one of my parents at dinner one night. I turned on the TV. Baseball. Heard the crowd during the season. Saw the Stadium every single day.

Cut school to go to opening day every year. I sat in the grandstand, slightly to the left of home. I know that the hometeam fans are supposed to sit to the right of home, but I wanted to see in the dugout. I still have all my ticket stubs. Fifty cents for ladies' day.

I'll report on the chocolate souffle cake later.

This is all rather mysterious to me, Roberta, being from another country (where baseball is a very vague concept in terms of popular sport).
When you have the time & energy, I'd be interested to hear more about the Yankees & what they mean to you. Say nothing of why some folk (going by your post) appear to hate them!

What was "ladies' day"?

Gee, you're such a nice person in all other respects, Roberta.

I do hope you won't hold it against me if I root for the Phillies (as I've been doing ever since my beloved Red Sox f**ked up this year).

@Merry Andrew,
Andy, People can root for whomever they choose. Why would I hold this against you or anyone else. Frankly, I'm a bit mystified that you would begrudge me my Yankees. They are my home team. My neighborhood team. Why does my rooting for them make me less of a nice person?

The chocolate souffle cake was supoib. Covered in dark chocolate with white sugar sprinkled on top, there were a few curled crisp dark chocolate cookies on the cake. The inside of the cake was rich, rich, rich and creamy. Absolutely delish.

My head hurts me a lot today. The nurse thinks it's the staples that are pulling. I don't care what it is. I have to deal with it. I'm gonna take a break from naps and go to sleep. I hope I don't toss and turn again tonight. I miss being able to sleep on my right side. This may be one of the reasons I've been tossing and turning.

My mouth still hurts a lot. Still can't open much at all. Chewing is a challenge.

Otherwise I'm peachy.

Night, all.

@Roberta,
Roberta, You're making me suffer! I'm getting prepared for colonoscopy and endonoscopy for tomorrow, and I have to "starve" myself today - all liquids, and I have to suffer through drinking one gallon of colyte. UGH!

I'm glad you enjoyed that chocolate watcha-ma-cholit tho!

I've been fuzzy today. Sleepy, not quite focused. Not in as much pain as yesterday.

c.i., You can't pin your miseries on me. Good luck with the scopies. They'll be over before you know it.

@Roberta,
Hey Boida...

Blech. Hmmmmmmm... yep. Hoping you'll feel a little better as the day continues - it's hard to get into a rhythm a? Unfocused - bit like wanting to do something, thinking you oughta be "doing", but not actually having the will, inclination or energy to go do it. Mindless getting thru the day blech.

I have itchy stiches and an insane kind of "nice" Shocked pain in the ankle... I feel the need to stretch it so it hurts a little coz it just feels so darn tight, tight tight. Can't feel toots at all Very Happy

Off to find me a scarf to wear today, it's freezing, even in the house - think I will go for deep brown, with goldy bits, little bit of auburn and a dash of green and burgundy. It's a pretty scarf. Day warrants a pretty scarf - its grey gloomy outside, chuggin down with rain and chilly, chilly, chilly. brrrrrrrrr.

((Boida))

<ci... hope all goes well with your tests, love.>
