First time I voted in my new home town in north north California, that was probably in 2000, I couldn't believe it, it was ballpoint pen time....can't remember now if I had to do a check sign or x, one of those. Yikes!

Warren Buffet has jumped on board. He will be Schwarzneggers "senior finacial advisor" He is a democrat and supported Clinton.

Found out why some Arnold advisors left.

Maria was hot about them putting Arnold on some news programs at 4AM after a long night, as he was tired, foggy and without many answers. He didn't come off well, and she was verra angry.

She is taking a bigger role in his campaign.

Looking forward to Buffet's....Arnold's ideas about the deficit.

It's clear that Arnold may be the California right wing's worst nightmare. Must admit, I was surprised to learn of his views on various hot button topics.

Hey! Credit for Arnold!
Buffet is the most successful businessman in the country. If you are shopping around for fiscal advice--Buffet is the best choice.

I really like the idea od a bipartisan cabinet-type thingie. Not sure Buffet will sign on in a permanent capacity, but the appeal of cross-aisle people working together is a great improvement over politics as usual.

I'm relatively certain Buffet would not want to tied down with some petty cabinet job but it only takes a few minutes a day for him to formulate and quantify some sound economic strategy. His conclusions will be interesting and most certainly will be successful if implemented correctly.

Be forewarned -- this is politics and the Buffet getting on board could be a good sign or a ploy to get votes. Let's see what he sincerely contributes and if it ends up being part of the platform. Time is slipping away and even a Warren Buffet may not have the magic formula to wipe the deficit off the books, especially without raising taxes. The two major things to tackle is the truly flawed privitization of the electric utilities and businesses leaving California, now because of another straw that broke the camel's back -- outrageous workman's compensation insurance rates.

Quite right wizard

I truly believe it is a mistake for any republican to take that office---it would be much better for California to sink with the Dems---especially the hollywood lefties. Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and his sleazy wife, and last but not least the "nose" Striesand.

What has this handful of people including your smarmy reference to "sleazy" and the "nose" got to do with how the State of California is run and the problems it faces today? Answer: nothing.
If Arnold were to get elected, I've go news for you -- he has to work with a Democratic legislature. You consistenly debase your arguments by slipping into derogatory personal attacks.

Given Arnold's support for various left-of-center causes, does he count as a Hollywood lefty, too?

That wasn't a personal attack --- just an observation and if you're so worried about derogatory personal attacks why haven't you ever mentioned all the thousands of derogatory personal attacks on President Bush who should demand a whole lot more respect than a Hollylwood floozy and her misguided husband.

I don't have much respect for the Hollywood genre, but I do have immense respect for people willing to jeopardize their careers and speak out for what they believe in.

I don't have much respect for people who would denigrate the careers of people because they disagree with an unrelated issue being spoken out about. I have even less respect for anyone who chooses to remark about a person's physical attributes as the method to denigrate them.

As for Arnold Schwarzenegger, I may not agree with all his political views (if he has any) but I do admire the tenacity and strength of character it takes to put yourself out there to run for election in this society.

By the way, Perception, what exactly is the difference between a Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Barbara Streisand, Susan Sarandon speaking out at a press conference and an Arnold Schwarzenegger running for office in a recall election? They're all "Hollywood types." So what makes one action "sleazy and misguided" and not the other?

I would have difficulty considering Arnold's past putting the word "sleazy" too close to his name. I dissagree with referring to Dubya's past transgression in cheap, tabloid terminlogies. Retaliating to your sensitivity towards such tactics just puts you in the same pig pen -- have fun in the mud.
