My, but aren't you the original thinker, Tico.

But forget Frank and Gannon. What Gannon was doing is totally different than a random citizen at a townhall meeting.
Agreed. What Gannon did was a lot worse.

Have you seen anyone here who you consider a liberal excuse this planted question? I've said it was dumb and that I don't like it. I've also pointed out that this administration is not free of guilt on the same thing.
You need to acknowledge when your side gets it wrong. Otherwise, you just look like a jerk or stupid.
Now I'm confused.
You are saying, and you are most likely correct, that this admin also uses planted questions.
It sounds to me like you are saying that since one side does it the other can also.
You criticize any conservative that uses that defense, yet you seem to be using it now.
If both parties do it, then both parties are wrong.
Please re-read my first two sentences.

extra points for comprehension of the written words.
To summarize the argument here, the justification of Hillary planting questions to be asked by selected individuals, well other people do it, such as Bush. My point stands, that no, not everyone does do it, and at least cite some evidence, so the example cited in regard to Bush was Jeff Gannon, which I pointed out was not the same. Number one, a press conference with questions from familiar reporters is totally different than a town meeting with questions from citizens, and two, all presidents call on reporters that may give them easy questions. Unless someone can show Bush gave him the exact questions ahead of time, not a valid argument. As to whether Gannon was a qualified reporter, that is another issue.
To Tico, the reference to Gannon being unqualified was insinuated as partly due to him being gay, at least that was pointedly mentioned, and it was not originally brought up by me, so I countered that such should not relate to the question and used Frank as a counter example.
Again, if anyone has evidence of questioners being given the exact questions by the staff of the official, or staff of the candidate ahead of time, besides Hillary, lets hear it.

The Facts of the Case
It's worth calling attention to the things we think we know for sure.
Gannon -- I'm going to call him that for now, since I'm used to it -- worked for a Web site called Talon News, and his writings appeared on that site as well one called GOPUSA.com, both of which were operated by Texas Republican activist Bobby Eberle. On his personal Web page, Gannon had a section called "Behind Enemy Lines: Stories from Inside the White House Briefing Room."
Pretty much every day, Gannon got cleared into the White House briefing room by a press office that knew his real name. Press Secretary Scott McClellan frequently called on him during the mid-day briefings, using his fake name. McClellan was consistently rewarded with questions that -- in stark contrast from most of what passes for questions in that room -- were more expressions of conservative dogma than actual attempts to elicit information. Members of the press corps individually confronted Gannon and told him that he didn't belong there. But nothing more serious than that happened -- until Bush called on him at his televised Jan. 26 news conference and he asked a loaded, inaccurate question partly derived from a Rush Limbaugh joke.
In the ensuing days, liberal Web sites and an army of bloggers determined his real name, called attention to his lack of journalistic credentials, found a link to gay porn Web sites, pointed out how that ran afoul of his "family values" positions, and apparently hounded him into resigning.
Again, we can attack the credibility of lots of reporters, and lots of reporters ask loaded questions either friendly or hostile to liberal or conservative politicians, it happens routinely, but where is the evidence that Bush gave Gannon the questions to ask?
Most of the time, it is friendly liberal reporters asking softball questions of liberal politicians, and nobody complains about that. And I have heard plenty of loaded hostile questions asked of Bush by liberal reporters, and nobody complains about that.

(In response to the bolded part)
Actually when he first started getting clearances at WH news conferences talan hadn't been created yet and he hadn't had any news experience or was assosiated with any news organizations at all other than when he was in high school.
Quote:Gannon first attended a White House press conference on February 28, 2003, and there asked a question of then White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. At this time Gannon had never had an article published, and was not associated with any kind of news organization (Talon News had not been created yet[5]). However, Gannon states that he was editor of his high school student newspaper, as proof of having some journalistic experience. [8]
Jeff Gannon
"Bush supporters". Really a rather quaint bit of wording.

Giving WH access to someone under a fictitious name who is not even a legitimate reporter and then calling on him repeatedly is a thousand times worse that what the isolated instance that involved Hillary. And while the WH stonewalled what may actually be a major scandal, the Clinton campaign simply told the truth about the minor indiscretion.
okie, what other president ever gave WH access to a fake reporter with a fake name?
If you want to discuss access to the whitehouse, which is a totally different subject from planted questions by the way, who had a bar bouncer for Whitehouse security?

You still exhibit an exceedingly poor grasp of the concept of freedom of speech. And you dare to speak of amateurs.

She left for 10 minutes ... then pronounced herself cured and returned.
Someone as delusional as you should resist pointing fingers, Tico.
