why do people get married? im asking because i have not once ever felt the need to sign a peice of paper binding my financial future with someone else. if love is real, why do you need to have a license for it? its complete nonsense from my point of view.
What are the reasons some of you have gotten married? is it love? fear of being alone again? financial reasons?
I just married for the green card.
I, too, married for the green card.
It sounded like a good idea at the time. I must have had an ear infection.
There you go Ogionic, we all have ulterior motives for getting married.
The real interesting question should have been: Why do people divorce?
Uh oh. I am getting another ear infection AND I've been thinking about marriage without revulsion lately.
Hold me.
*you gave me my first laugh of the morn, Jane. Thanks. Imagined you saying that with a thick German accent for some reason*
Oh, it's undeniably there, flushed (the accent)
Jane prepares for work....
Or the question could be 'why do people not marry?'.
Do you know the three stages of marriage, littlek?
The first stage is the "Anywhere" stage. You do it anywhere... the elevator, the boat, the kitchen sink, the hammock, on top of your mother-in-law, at the Monster Truck Rally.....anywhere!
Second stage is the "Bedroom" stage. At this point in the relationship you keep the sexual activities confined to the bedroom.
The third stage is the "Hallway" stage.
That's when you pass each other in the hall and say, "Fock you!"
Oh, I had heard of those.
I haven't really ever been driven to be married. I wouldn't mind it, but because I've also never been driven to have kids, there is no urgency. The fact that many marriages I see around me suck doesn't help.
Kris, will you be my mentor?
Does she look like a people person?
Do I NOT look like a people person?!?
Mr. B and I lived together for.... oh.... 8 years or so then he got this job with an amazing insurance plan and I wanted in on that.
Thanks, boomer. Thanks for that.
The man i chose has an incredible jazz collection on wax. It's gonna be worth something someday. When he's gone.
